Good Day all.

I have dark spots that i want treated. Can someone please recommend a good skin lightening cream to get rid of my dark spots and lighten my complexion without irritating my skin with break outs. Appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Oh yes I definitely want to learn more about this as well. I have heard a lot about hydroquinone but heard lately that it is causing a lot of irritation to people. Is that the case? Also - what about kojic acid? Arbutin is another one but I don't know which products have those ingredients in them and then which of those is the safest/most effective? I have a lot of old scarring that is much darker than the rest of my skin and it is time for me to start addressing it. Thanks!

Kojic acid and arbutin are safe ways to lighten skin.

I would try azelaic acid (Finacea, Azelex), it's great for hyperpigmentation for all skin types.

Normally fairness creams are very dry and while you put on your face the whiteness of the cream stays which is very annoying but this serum blends up with the skin and its not too dry nor too oily just a perfect combination which i was looking for and im glad i got dermalmd's skin lighten serum (:

Out of the many lightening creams I've tried SkinMedica Lytera gets an A+. It's a little on pricey but well worth it. You use it twice a day morning and night and it'll make a world of difference. After using it for around 3 months I have an almost totally even skin tone.

I used Arbutin ( from the Ordinary skin line) and Isotretinoin for my PIH. This is after 4-6 weeks

I still have some more work to do! But my face has come along way!!!!

HI!  Remember to be gentle with your skin- cleansing-wise and also use sunscreen to combat hyperpigmentation!
Vitamin A is definitely a product that clinically proven to reduce dark spots. But it's super powerful and can be irritating to skin (causes inflammation, redness, flakiness, stinging, etc.)

So the next best bet is using serums that contain Vitamin C or Niacinamide. (But don't use both at the same time, because they are both active ingredients and can reduce the efficacy.)

Here's a list of products that should help you! <3 Remember it won't be magic and disappear overnight. You have to be patient and consistent with using good quality products.  :)
