How to stop bad reaction from benzoyl peroxide?

Recently, I decided to try out the Neutrogena Stubborn Acne spot treatment with 10% benzoyl peroxide. I was very careful with the amount I used, I only really used a pea-sized amount in the spots that I needed it most. I don't have cystic acne, I'd say that my acne is moderate, yet it's super stubborn and I've yet to find something that makes it go away completely yet. This spot treatment has been working well on the acne, but it's affected my skin pretty negatively too. It's made my skin super soft and got rid of a lot of the acne, but now the skin on my cheeks, neck, and chest is extremely red and itchy, and feels really warm. I only put one pea sized amount on my chest and two on my face, on different sides. I'm going to give my skin a break for a bit, but what can I do to make this rash go away? I don't have any lotion readily available, but I do have aloe Vera for sunburns, so I was thinking that may work to reduce some of the irritation and heat?

Don't know if you've tried a lower strength BP on your skin? I guess maybe you have from your comment that you've classified your spots as super stubborn and are yet to find something suitably effective....that said you should still get some effectiveness from a lower BP product but hopefully with reduced irritation.
My son is using epiology cream which is quite good for calming redness and irritation. The aloe vera you have is definitely worth a try.

I agree with Jazzguy...I'd try a lower strength BP. 2.5% BP is way gentler yet still equally as effective as stronger formulas for treating even stubborn acne. Stronger isn't always better.

I'd give things a few days to calm down before resuming treatment. But yeah, maybe try a lower strength, see if this helps keep your skin more comfortable. Also, be sure you're moisturizing! Very important, and will help minimize uncomfortable redness and irritation!!
