Multivitamin Or No?

I've read the posts on here about taking a multivitamin. I am on the B5 regimen (one of the only things that has worked for my acne), and I also take l-cysteine to prevent hair loss (working so far and I've been on the regimen awhile). My question is -should I take a multivitamin or no? I'm too scared to take a b-complex because I've heard of people breaking out in cystic acne (what I'm trying to prevent). I've been taking a multivitamin, but people also describe their skin getting worse on a multi. I'm so confused- it seems like everything breaks people out! What are your guy's thoughts about taking a multi? I know to avoid one with iodine. When I was younger and more careless, I was on the B5 regimen for years without a multi or a b complex. Didn't seem to cause any major health problems at that time.

Overall the market of multi vitamins being an integral part of micronutritional supplementation has been riddled with skepticism. A lot of vitamins in the commonly encountered multi vitamins use vitamers of the original vitamin that was produced in a rudimentary manufacturing process to maintain the conscientious effort of cost reduction. Also, there is very well establised conflictions with certain vitamins/minerals being consumed simoutaneously due to relying on the same exact enzyme for metabolism leading to a decreased overall bioavailability.

How do you know this was down to the multivitamin?

Only thing I changed..

Vitamins can either improve your skin or make it worse imo. Take a blood test to see if you have any deficiencies.

I took vitamins, and it messed everything up because i was getting too much of one vitamin, which caused another vitamin to reduce.

Recently, i found that the vitamins i was taking made me get an iron deficiency, which is the reason why ive been getting scars so easily.

Get a full blood test, before you put anything in your body you are unsure of.

wait, I thought you mentioned it was going vegetarian that caused your iron defiency. Did something change? Was it really the vitamins.

i use to take a multivitamin when I first went vegan and it didnt help or worsen. My bloodwork was normal before and after so clearly I didnt need it. Currently just taking zinc, d, and a probiotic in supplement form

Sorry, should of re-worded it a better. Before becoming vegetarian my iron levels were a little low, then going vegetarian made meanaemic (my own fault. should of eaten more vegetables with iron) and then to fix it, i took a multi-vitamin (centrum) which actually made it worse than it already was because it didnt contain any iron. Hope that clears it up a bit! Sorry should of re-worded it better!
