Benzoyl Peroxide + Suncreen = Burn?

So I'm a 16 year old male with mild to moderate acne, primarily on my face (specifically my chin and jawline). I am on a twice a day Doxycycline antibiotic pill as well as a nightly Tretinoin topical cream. Until two weeks ago, I was washing my face nightly with Neutrogena's Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser. Looking for something stronger and more effective, I switched to PanOxyl's Benzoyl Peroxide 4% Creamy Wash. Although it is a little more drying than the Neutrogena product, I feel like it's been more effective so far. Unfortunately, I read that benzoyl peroxide reduces the skin's defense against sun. In combination with the Doxycycline pill, my face is extremely sun-sensitive.

Since changing to the BP wash, I've noticed that during my morning runs for cross country, in which I am exposed to the sun for greater than an hour every day (excluding overcast days), my face has felt an uncomfortable burning sensation about 20 minutes in to each run. To combat this, I tried using Neutrogena Clear Face Sunscreen (SPF 55). Immediately upon application, the skin on my face burns for about a minute. Although the pain is temporary, it doesn't seem like a good sign.

Is it possible that the combination between the BP wash and the sunscreen is the cause of this burning pain? Are there any other brands/types of sunscreens that would be less likely to cause this problem?

Thanks!
