Hi all,
My daughter , age 20, has started to get more consistent breakouts - There are so many products out there! Not sure what to get her --What type of cleanser do you recommend , I wasn't sure if I should get her a gel cleanser, cream cleanser , or exfoliating??? Thanks for you help and input --. Also, is a maximum strength acne spot treatment very strong? How fast do they clear up pimples???
I'm currently using the aloe hand & face soap from forever living alongside a couple of their other products. I had moderate acne before and I currently have 1 small spot on my chin so it's improved immeasurably and I've only been using it 2 weeks. Not usually one for "all natural" things but honestly can't sing highly enough about this stuff. I've stopped my medication and still clear!
Paulas Choice is a good website that reviews products and can give you some good information. From my personal experience I have liked Olay Foaming Cleanser for Sensitive Skin (gel not liquid). There are a lot of cleansers that can be much too drying and irritating and end up making things much worse. I would try testing any new cleanser on maybe one check for a week or so to test the reaction before using it all over.
Hi I am 22 years old around your daughters age. I completely understand how it can seem overwhelming with the number of products out there. The first thing you want to do is assess your daughter's face. You want to start of with the right cleanser for her skin type. She either has normal, oily, dry, or combination skin. Combination skin usually consist of oily forhead and nose with normal to dry cheeks. If she has oily skin a foaming cleanser is recommended. If she has dry skin a cleanser that is a cream cleanser is better so it doesn't strip out the natural oils in her skin. As far as acne treatments. Salicylic acid and Benzoyl Peroxide are the best out. Benzoyl Peroxide I have found works the best. I suggest getting Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser. This cleanser was a miracle worker for me! Benzoyl Peroxide stops the acne that is deep down in your poors while salicylic acid works on the surface and opening them up for the Benzoyl Peroxide to work and kill deep down. This cleanser is creamy and is smooth on the face. I also recommened Biore Unclogging Scub it has 2% salycilic acid and its not a harsh abrasive scrub I use it morning and night and the Clean & Clear cleanser only at night. Hopefully this helps and you can find these products at target, walmart, cvs, or walgreens.
