i recently started using cerave hydrating cleanser and the moisturizing cream. it helped a lot with the dryness on my cheek and my chin cyst is fading.

it also seems that the blackheads along my jawline are fewer but still present. anyway, a few whiteheads popped up along my jaw and i'm wondering if anyone has ever had cerave cause this? i rarely get whiteheads, could this be some kind of purge? before cerave i had been using jojoba and aloe. also supposed to be ovulating soon but idk...OH and i've also only been taking milk thistle and beta sitosterol for a little over a week

i really feel like cerave is doing some good but not sure

I was just reading Cerave's reviews on MakeupAlley.com because I was thinking of trying it. It seems to be a hit or big miss with people. Many people have had it clog their pores and give them whiteheads, and others say it doesn't break them out at all. I wish I could find a moisturizer that doesn't break me out!

Milk thistle can cause purging. Every time I've started up milk thistle again I get some whiteheads.

I use CeraVe and it is a very well formulated moisturizer (it used to be prescription only, believe it or not). I really doubt it is the cause of your whiteheads.

have you tried it? like green said it may have been the milk thistle.. I really liked how it made my skin feel aside from the random whiteheads. I purchased some 2% BHA lotion from Paula's Choice and im in love, you should try it! at first I was concerned that it would be too drying since its medicated so I emailed a representative and they said it would be a sufficient moisturizer. they were right, it moisturizes wonderfully and i am loving the idea of a deep exfoliant and moisturizer all in one product. I think I read on the PC website that it is better to use a gentle non medicated cleanser with the BHA products so I switched to Olay foaming face wash for sensitive skin and i am really liking this regime

I did end up buying a bottle. I've used it 5 times now and I am very happy to say it has not broken me out so far. That is a miracle in itself considering over 85% of the moisturizers, cosmetics, etc. I try on my face end up breaking me out. The sad part is that it is not moisturizing enough! It sinks in really quick and an hour later my skin feels dry again.

I think I'm going to try the Cerave Cream and see if that is more moisturizing and hopefully will not break me out either. I was previously using Cetaphil Cream but I have a sneaking suspicion it might be contributing to my breakouts.I also use Lac Hydrin 5 (lactic acid moisturizer) every night and I love that. Sometimes I even add my own lactic acid I bought on Ebay to make it stronger. It doesn't break me out, and helps with my Post Inflammatory Hyper Pigmentation scars. Unfortunately, it's not moisturizing enough. I'm on the Acne.org regimen and although it helps with the acne it leaves my skin very dry.

I also use Olay Foaming Face Wash for Sensitive Skin! It's good stuff.
