ive gone back to the basic cleanser, cetaphil gentle and using dove essential day lotion spf 15 as my moisturiser, but i realised theres no salicylic acid in any of them? so i was wondering if it was necessary? if so, can anyone recommend any products please?

necessary? not the right question

will SA help me? who knows, you have to try it....how oily is your skin, how old are you? if you are younger with oily skin and a lot of clogged pores then I would say add a wash with SA to your routine, and as you shower, leave it on your skin for a few minutes before you wash off (be smart about your eyes of course)

if your skin is dry and you are on Dan's regimine, then no don't use it, be gentle with your skin and give the BP routine a try

only you can answer, but adding SA in can be very good, but what else are you doing and how is your skin reacting?

I took it out for a month or two and wasn't happy. I had an extremely strict diet so that's prolly why I didn't break out too bad, but I had a few flare ups. When I use SA I stay 90-95% clear with my diet. I would recommend it

2% SA does have some effect, but it's much weaker than 20-30% SA chemical peels. 2% SA is useful (mostly a preventative) if you can't tolerate other treatments.
