Hi,

Thinking about trying Estroblock, but not sure if it's safe? I have pretty severe acne on my chin for the most part. Hardly break out RIGHT before my period, but i DO break out for about 2 weeks long after my period! Any help would be awesome!

Hey! I break out mid-cycle too, during ovulation. I'm trying out inositol right now, look up studies on it online. Estroblock sounds a bit risky because it can indirectly boost free testosterone as it lowers estrogen, so it can set your estrogen - testosterone ratio off.

Thats a discussion for you and your doctor. I wouldn't trust reviews on the internet for stuff like that. Anything that messes with your hormones can do more damage than good.

Estroblock blocks estrogen and raises testosterone.

Most hormonal acne treatments involve LOWERING testosterone, sometimes raising estrogen and/or progesterone. Ever heard the term "androgenic activity causes acne"? Well, Estroblock will definitely increase your androgenic activity.

Estroblock is the opposite of what you want.

Where did you hear estroblock increases androgenic activity ? It's supposed to solely detox bad estrogens and everything in turn balances back out. From everything I've read it decreases excess androgens.

I read that too, especially on bodybuilding websites, but higher free testosterone can actually mean lower DHT because an increase in free testosterone could mean that it's not binding to DHT receptors anymore.

All the studies I found on DIM point to its DHT-lowering abilities...this one is the most cited (in 156 other studies) about DIM being an androgen antagoniser http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12665522

Unfortunately, there aren't any studies on estroblock and women with hormonal issues though, so we have to rely on anecdotal evidence and the studies on prostate research in men. More data is needed about DIM and women, right now we're mostly speculating.

My dr won't prescribe Estroblock, he says it's for people with cancer, and it's not enough studies on it.

Any suggestions? Is it possible to make capsles on our own, mixing legal ingredients or something?

I really think DIM helps a lot, at least of what I read on the internet.

Try just plain DIM, no need to pay extra for estroblock. You don't need prescription anyways.

In my country I need prescription for DIM, no one sells it, and to import it is extremely expensive, and illegal. (Stupid, I know..)

What about eating broccoli, how much must I eat a day then? Like, I'm thinking maybe if I made a broccoli-smoothie every day, would that be enough?

Edit: Is this ok to use?

That particular brand of DIM I'm not familiar with. I use olympian labs DIM, it's just DIM, unlike Estroblock which has other ingredients too.

You would have to eat a lot of broccoli to get the same benefits, and eating that much broccoli at once isn't good for digestion.

Sorry to say, but greengables is wrong on this one. I trust Dr. Oz, he is a real doctor and all, and my own experiences with DIM along with the experiences of so many women taking it.
