It might be possible, the bacteria that creates the puss is strictly anaerobic, meaning it does not survive in the presence of oxygen, which is what benzoyl peroxide provides to the pore. I have been using glycolic and salicylic acid. Both I get on amazon. If you get glycolic acid, get a night cream 10 or 12%, glycolic acid doesn't per se break down lipids (which salicylic acid does) but it keeps the top layer of your skin fresh and new. You can also achieve this by using a low grade salicylic acid peel (10%) and wear it for 5 min to 60 min. Remember to always use a moisterizer when using peels, and you should be using a moisterizer over your BP. Put a thin layer on, whatever percent is what it is, if you cake it on more, you don't get a higher treatment, although I caked it on at night in high school because my face was so oily at night, and that did the trick for oil absorption purposes.
