Hello all,
I've been using Paula's Choice 2% bha gel since it came in the mail a few days ago to treat my (mostly) comedonal acne. It's been working great, although I've broken out with many tiny whiteheads across my forehead. Oh well. An initial breakout of that ilk was expected.
What I've been doing these last few days is dan's cleanser (every few days differin 0.3%) and dan's moisturizer in the morning. In the evening i use dan's cleanser, bha, and then dan's moisturizer. Then i put vaseline or neosporin over red marks(which one i use is dependent on whether or not the lesion is flat).
However, i read somewhere on this site about that moisturizer shouldn't be used after bha, as many of the beneficial ingredients binds with ingredients in the moisturizer, as opposed to the skin. This information does not seem to be consistent though.
Would someone tell me whether or not i should be moisturizing after using bha? If so, how long should i wait after application? If not then should i stop applying vaseline/neosporin as well? Is this regimen gentle enough for a 15 year old?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I also use Paula's Choice products and I love them!!
I use the BHA in the morning, wait 5-10 minsn (usually this is when I brush my teeth and hair), put BP on and then use my moisturizer. It's been working really well for my blackheads and acne in general. Good luck!
