Pantothen is just a brand name for vitamin B5. B5 is a weak anti-androgen. Too much androgen = too much acne. So an anti-androgen helps combat that.

If your acne is mild it can work. It is working well for one of my relatives. If you search on this board you will find others who like it.

I have suffered with acne since i was 13 (now 27). At 13/14 i used oxetectracycline (not 100% sure on the spelling) and it worked really well. Then my GP put me onto

Dianette for several years after that. A year after coming off it i broke out again and the only thing that worked was to go back onto Dianette. I have since tried several times to get off of Dianette and every time my acne comes back even worse. Pantothen seemed to be a miracle cure and it did appear to be working from when i started taking it in July HOWEVER**** i have now broken out really badly and it has stopped working. I don't know if this is the case for other people but for me i would try a cheaper alternative. The pills are very large and hard to swallow and part of me wonders if i got a few dud bottles thrown in with the large order i made. I guess you won't know unless you give it a try. Perhaps 12 weeks would be long enough for you to see if it makes a difference.
