Hey you guys. Something has been going on and people are ordering tons of Cleanser. That's awesome, but I didn't see this coming, so it looks like I'll be running out as of next week. This is a head up to order some now if you need some.
I am doing my best to rush the next fill but because of the holidays it may be January before it goes back up on the site.
In the meantime, if you happen to run out, you can still do The Regimen with another Cleanser, so don't worry. Choose one with the following properties:
- Liquid
- Specifically made for the face
- No SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate)
- No scrubbers (beeds, apricot bits, etc.)
- It's good if it says "for sensitive skin" or "hypoallergenic" on the label because that means the company is trying their best to keep it gentle (usually)
- Avoid soaps entirely
- No added fragrance - natural extracts are fine and they sometimes have scent, but no "Fragrance" listed on the ingredients
Here's a page where you can read all about how to choose a good Cleanser.
Also, as a sidenote, the next batch of Cleanser that I'm filling will be even gentler. I swapped out a few of the surfactants (cleansing ingredients) to make it even ultra-gentler. It should feel about the same and foam up great, but you will notice it's even less drying and gentler.
Is this a good cleanser alternative?thx
It's got gentle surfactants (cleansing agents) and most of the other stuff seems standard.
I do wonder about the mandelic acid and glycolic acid though. When you're doing The Regimen, I recommend doing it exactly (which means no "actives" in the cleanser) until you're completely clear. Then, you can add in 1 variable at a time, such as adding in a cleanser with mandelic/glycolic.
Having said that, if you are already completely clear, you can give it a try and see how it goes. If it stings too much, I'd say that's a red flag.
Johnson's head-to-toe babywash is an excellent alternative, cheap and readily available:
