In regard to a recent user that was blocked by the MOD (Thank you MOD for your help) and many users who have Body DysmorphicDisorder (and its subset acne scar dysmorphia) / Narcissism (the topics always become about them)and are overtaking the Acne Scar area of the forum (making the experience terrible for the users). In fact they are saying they want to commit suicide often even after being told to seek therapy.

**Can we have a feature please MOD on this forum to block individual user names that we do not wish to see their content or have them contact us, that would be extremely helpful and allow them to still be part of the forum, just not part of a individuals experience.

I agree. I'm active on these forums daily and I can attest to the fact that the scar subforum is currently home to a few individuals who need psychiatric help ASAP. They seem to use these forums as a coping mechanism to distract themselves from their everyday life. The new members to this site or even simply visitors, will not take away the positiveness from this forum if they are bombarded by "look at my scars omg help life is pointless" threads.

If you are an individual who feels that acne has made your life worthless: you need to seek psychiatric help,as life will continue in the same path without repairing the inside out. Fix your mental state of being, it's possibly, and no youre probably not smart enough to fix your dysmorphic disorder on your own.

Hey you guys. So you're saying you want to be able to block people from PMing you and also from seeing their content? Just wanted to clarify that this is the 2 things you're recommending.

Question:

- Wouldn't that end up making threads show up as swiss cheese for you? Would you still be able to follow along with holes in threads like that?

If we did this, I suppose I could set it up for you so it would still be visible that they posted something but it would just have no content and would say "blocked" or something.

Let me know your thoughts.

Hi Dan,

Forgot about this post, was hoping other members would chime in as well. They PM'd me and ask for this feature, I could even use it... :smileys_n_people_103: ignorance is bliss.

Due to recent occurrences, we need this feature more now than ever 😉 ask @Control Panel, he said he might forget to tell you. It would have solved a ton of MOD man hours / headache. :smileys_n_people_116::smileys_n_people_119::smileys_n_people_108::smileys_n_people_65::activity_39: This would even be a great self protection method for those with trauma instead of walking on egg shells, being annoyed with a person, saying something potentially wrong or being triggered by someones community useful content, ... block them.

It would be nice to not know certain members exist (no nothing): PM's, postings, last viewed / online. Possibly the non functioning ignore user feature is made to function (it's currently not doing this). The blocked member can carry on being users and posting as normal, unaware that you exist on the site. All other members or moderators can see, posts, and deal with the person.

It's a 2 - way process of invisibility. They should not have the ability after all of commenting and starting responses against the member who blocked them and their content when you cannot see them.

This is also a feature on Reddit that is great FYI. Saves everybody from lots of arguments:

Reddit -- "You can now block users that reply to you in comment replies as well. Simply click the œBlock User button while viewing the reply in your inbox. From that point on, the profile of the blocked user, along with all their comments, posts, and messages, will then be completely removed from your view. You will no longer be alerted if they message you further. As before, the block is completely silent to the blocked user. Blocks can be viewed or removed on your preferences."  https://github.com/reddit/reddit/commit/6c9a28e6bd0cebc05e220b6d807b4bf46663474b

"If we did this, I suppose I could set it up for you so it would still be visible that they posted something but it would just have no content and would say "blocked" or something..." That is fine, Grey blocked or hidden if you feel this would make more sense when their content is displayed or quotes of their text is a interesting solution.

Thanks,
BA

Most people can ignore posts they dislike, but if you require a special block option to prevent your strange behaviour beautifulambition then by all means....

This must be headache you speak of.
