I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with The Regimen. The first few weeks can be really tough and sometimes bad enough for people to quit too soon. I want you to know that what you're experiencing is likely perfectly normal and to be expected. I'd hate to see you quit at this point and not achieve clear skin.

The active ingredient in the Acne.org Treatment is 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, which comes with what is referred to as the "hardening effect." This includes dryness, redness, and itchiness for the first 2-3 weeks that you use it. This hardening effect does not last and will fortunately go away. This is why it is important that you START SLOWLY with benzoyl peroxide, and only use a pea size amount once a day for the first week. If you started with more benzoyl peroxide than this, you should expect severe dryness, redness, and flakiness.

Be sure to use lots of Moisturizer as often as needed, and keep in mind you can also add 5-6 drops of jojoba oil into the Moisturizer each time you apply it. This can really help take care of dryness and flakiness.
