I have been on the acne.org regimen for 3 months now and it isn't working! I followed all instructions to the T and I have done more. Should I continue on the regimen or switch to something else? Plus my skin is getting so dry I hate it.

Since we don't have any photos we really can't make any recommendations. But a dermatologist would be the best person to do that anyway. They may recommend adding another treatment to your topicals regimen, or another course of treatment altogether for you. While results on the Regimen vary widely, most people do begin to see results about 3-4 months into treatment. For my son it took about 4 months of Regimen use coupled with a course of antibiotics (minocycline 100 mgs once daily) and a daily dose of .05% tretinoin to bring results. Now the Regimen alone is keeping him clear.

BP treatments don't work for every person. You sound a lot like me, where BP and SA irritates and dries out your skin quite badly, which could just make the acne worse. Apparently, it's best to slowly wean off BP rather than quitting cold turkey to avoid an acne flare-up.

Where is your acne mostly located? Is it on the chin/jawline/lower cheeks? If you're eating a lot of wheat and dairy, acne can appear here more easily if you have an underlying hormone imbalance. Oily skin, having several coarse hairs on your chin/cheek/lip and chin cysts are all a sign of hormonal/androgenicacne which does not respond to BP or SA well at all, typically. I'm thinking this could be a possibility for why the regimen isn't helping for you.

Acne on the very sides of your face and near your hairline could be caused by hair products, irritating shampoos, and a dirty pillowcase. Try Free & Clear shampoo -it's resolved a lot of those painful bumps behind my ears and on the sides of my face in less than 2 weeks. I realized I was allergic to the fragrance and SLS in my shampoo.

Little tiny clogged pores on your forehead, especially, can actually be acne cosmetica, which is caused by pore clogging irritants in makeup and products for your face. These include some oils, like grapeseed and jojoba, squalene, and irritants like lavender, bismuth oxychloride, talc, dimethicone, and SLS/SLES...which all are in many foundations and washes, unfortunately. I am trying Simple face wash right now because it doesn't have any of those. I'm searching for a silicone free or low silicone foundation too, but it's challenging. Mineral makeup tends to leave me chalky.

There are many different sources of acne, and working to eliminate each one will get you clearer. 🙂

BP worked for me you might not be putting enough on, you can feel it when you put it on right and you can feel it killing the acne, use two full pumps and put it only on your cheeks I have seen that putting it on nose and chin or forehead irritates the skin just on the cheeks acne seems to be only going for the cheeks and when it cant goes elsewhere but it can be killed first on the cheeks this is how iwas clear .. but I had side effects putting so much bp..

BP never worked for me either. Unfortunately, I thought if I just used it consistently my breakouts would heal. Ended up with a chemical burn. It was so bad that I had to visit the derm. My advice is if you don't see results in 4 - 6 weeks you should try something else.

If you are trying something topical for this long and it's not working, it is more than likely being caused within. You may want to look into candida overgrowth. Also, try Oregano Oil supplements, Turmeric Supplement, and garlic supplement, taking one of each per day. To check out the full all natural skin care regimen that cured me, please check out my blog post! Best of luck!
