Dear Community,

I am new to this forum and am keen to learn whether these products will work for me. I've not struggled with acne as a teenager, however, I developed moderate acne in my mid to late 20s (I'm now 31). Despite numerous topical treatments (as I cannot take any pills), it seems the acne is becoming worse. To go from having skin that strangers would compliment, to that of a seeming meth addict is heartbreaking to say the least.

From my research, I've learned that acne is hardly a surface issue; rather, acne is seemingly a manifestation of an internal imbalance (whether that be hormonal, gut/intestinal or inflammation found elsewhere). Upon being diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (an autoimmune disease affecting the thyroid gland), I'v worked with my endocrinologist to  begin re-balancing my hormones (easier said than done my friends). I've also worked diligently to incorporate lifestyle changes (not that my eating/lifestyle habits were poor previously), but am focusing on removing food/products that may cause inflammation or irritation. All that being said, I'm wondering whether this regimen and the associated products would help in the following circumstances:

1) If the acne is hormonally based (e.g. would this regimen/products help a person who suffers acne that may be hormonally induced)
2) If this products is safe for VERY sensitive skin; I tried ProActive years ago and my face nearly disintegrated- quite literally ran to the local dermatologist who put me on Cetaphil to calm my skin
3) If this product can be used with makeup; particularly concerned about flaking or severely red skin (or a moisturiser that melts makeup off like the melting face in Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark)

I'm deeply grateful to find a forum of people who, I hope, can empathise and perhaps guide me towards some answers. I've included some pictures (quite terrified) so very much appreciate your time and kindness. I desperately want these products and regimen to work- I'm not sure I can handle my hopes dashed once again.

Kindest regards,
-YYY x

Hi yyy84,

Thank you for contacting us.

The Regimen products are specifically formulated by Dan and our team of experts to work on mild, hormonal and even cystic acne. They could also be used on sensitive, oily and combination skin types.

Make sure of two things:

1. You are using only Acne.org Regimen products on your face and nothing else.
2. You are using the Acne.org Regimen products exactly as directed.

As for make up, we would advise that you avoid using any products on your skin as much as possible. Makeup may clog your pores and slow down down the process of the Acne.org Regimen products on treating your skin from acne.

However, if you do insist on wearing makeup, you may use it on top of The Regimen products. Make sure that the makeup that you are using is water based, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic to avoid any reactions on your skin. For more information on acne and makeup, kindly use the link provided below:

If there's anything else that we can help you with, please let us know.
