So I've been on the Acne.org regimen for over 3 months now, I never did build myself up to the full amount of BP. I'm quite clear with only about 1-2 active pimples that go away quickly, but I kept getting big white heads. Recently I went to a dermatologist and she recommend me getting on my old treatment (BP and Retin-A at night) that made me clear for almost two years. I'm feeling very wary about switching since I felt like I didn't explain my situation well, the Acne.org regimen is working, but is very drying, has discolored and yellowed my skin and I've seen temporary wrinkles. The main thing I'm worried about is switching to my old regimen that I will more than likely have a massive purge from the Retin-A. I'm relatively clear and am taking an antibiotic do you think I'd avoid this purge for the most part or will it be just as bad as starting fresh? Also does AHA usually have a similar purge as Retin-A? Any advice would be appreciated.
Before switching I would suggest maybe trying a different moisturizer if you think the yellow tint is a problem.
You see with BP and AHA your skin gets sensitive to the sun, so you are more prone to burn if you do not apply any SPF.
However, if switching is what you want to do, then always expect a purge. This almost always happens when switching up your usual routine.
