I've been using Dan's Regimen for two months and while I'm motivated to continue for another two (I already purchased another order so might as well), I was wondering when is an appropriate time to move on to something else. My acne (mild with some red marks) has not improved much and the redness side effect makes my red marks more pronounced than usual. Even when my face does have a good period of a few days, the next breakout is always around the corner. My face still stings slightly from the BP and while I've mostly recovered from the tan look that these products were giving me, my face is still pretty red at times. I believe I've been deligent about following the regimen properly. To prevent redness, I've scaled back my BP use to 1.5 pumps, but I may go down to 1 pump. I tend to have sensitive skin.
How long is enough time to give the regimen to work? I've been keeping the 4 month mark in my mind, but is 4 months with no results too much? Should I stop after 3 or be committed for 6 months? I know the regimen works for many people in time, but I want to be realistic.
Hi OcherManatee,
Thank you for contacting us. The Regimen products are specially formulated by Dan Kern and our team of experts to soothe, calm and heal irritated and acneprone skin.
For the Acne.org Regimen products to work, you must make sure that you are using only Acne.org Regimen products and you follow instructions precisely as outlined.
Many people are making common mistakes. Take this questionnaire to be sure you're on track just right:

Also keep in mind that many people take 3-4 months to get clear. We have received literally hundreds of success stories over the years from people who have said they are so glad they stuck it. Stay patient and you will clear up.
The red or dark marks of your skin are callederythematous macules which will fade away after six months or more provided that you do not have any more acne breakouts in the future.
If there's anything else that I can help you with, you may send us a message at Regimen support at http://www.acne.org/contact-us.html
The Regimen effects everyone's skin differently from what I've read;
Before I started the regimen I had light/mild acne, but very persistant. Seemed to never stop.
When I started, back in mid November (4months), my face would sting for "x" amount of time after applying the BP, I experienced some red areas for the first week or two, but I could tell that even though I was still getting a pimple every few days, sometimes every day..; that the Regimen was killing any existing pimples in no time. As time went/goes on, the "red marks" from previous acne becomes less and less red, and any newly forming pimples either came to a head and dried out/went away quick, or didn't come to a head at all.
Now, 4 months from when I started, I mayyy get 1-2 pimples a week, some of which don't even come to a head and disappear, the others come to a head and fade away in what feels like only a couple of days.
I barely have any redness or red marks from previous acne, and the regimen does a great job of cleansing my pores and keeping them that way, aside from the random pimple, which is annoying, but the regimen knocks them out fairly quick.
So to answer your question, I would definitely continue using. Try and go for at least 3 months and then check to see the difference, if any, in your skin.
Best of luck !
