Moisturizer and flaking

Hello - I have been on the regimen for 4 weeks now. I was having a lot of issues with flakiness and didn't care much for the regimen moisturizer. It made my skin bright red and didn't take away flakiness at all. I just recently decided to try a lotion rather than a moisturizer. I feel like it doesn't absorb fully into my skin and when I put makeup on my skin just kind of peels off with the lotion and everything. I just added AHA 3 days ago as well. Could the AHA be causing the peeling off that I am describing? What moisturizers have you all found that work better than the acne.org moisturizer?

Hi WholeBoules,

Sounds like you are going through a rough time. Dryness and irritation is to be expected during the first few weeks into The Regimen but it eventually goes away. This is particularly noticeable when applying Moisturizer.

Use Acne.org Regimen products precisely as outlined and make sure that you are not using any other products along with The Regimen to get you perfectly clear.

The Acne.org Moisturizer is specifically designed by the experts at Acne.org to soothe and calm irritated problem skin. With continued use twice a day, your skin will be clear, radiant and healthy looking.

Make sure that you are using 2 full pumps of The Acne.org Moisturizer to prevent dryness and irritation. You may also add in 5-6 drops of Jojoba Oil into the Moisturizer each time you apply it for additional moisture.

I know it's tough at the beginning but just be patient and you will have clear skin.

If you are one month into The Regimen, your skin should be able to adjust to the AHA+ after a few applications.

AHA+ can cause some peeling in the beginning but this should eventually subside as your skin adjusts to this treatment. AHA+ gives your skin a mild chemical peel to help slough off dead skin, helping BP treatment absorb better and speed up fading of red marks. I'd recommend using a small amount with lots of moisturizer and as your skin gets used to it, slowly ramp up the dose. Some people use it straight 1-2 times per week, or a 50/50 mix of AHA+ and moisturizer every day (my personal preference).

Good luck!

Sensitive skin typically doesn't adjust to the flaking that AHA causes. I'm an unfortunate one.

Yeah, I know CP and thought of you even as I wrote it, that sucks! :ohno: It's such a great Regimen add-on, that's why I love recommending it! My son's skin loves AHA+ and the flakiness subsided after a few weeks.
