Hi all,
Just started the body regimen today. my back acne is considered moderate but its everywhere. sometimes i get a few big nodular acne deep under the skin. So i hope this regimen will be working fine. I had been using benzoic peroxide 5% spot treatementwith salycilic acid wash, mosturizer and toner before. it helps but not to the point that it clears up all the acne and it doesnt prevent new acne breakouts. Plus i havent been using them twice daily.
I've read the instructions and faq few times already. But there are a few things i need clarification,
1. I know we should do it twice daily with a period of 10-12 hours. what if something prevent me to do that? I can still do twice daily but i might have to do it earlier than 10 hours or later than 12 hours. My question is which one is better? apply it earlier or later? I know i shouldnt skip it based on the FAQ
2. I apply the regimen in the morning before work and evening after work. I know i should leave the Benzoic peroxide and glycolic acid on after application. If i were to take afternoon shower at work after gym around noonish, will it be okay? how early can i have a shower after applying the regimen?
3. is it ok for me to use this regimen for my face as well? havent tried it since its not that bad. just wondering if its not for the face.
ps/:my concerns are only on my body acne, my face is usually clear with maybe 1 or 2 occasional acne which can be cleared up with my current treatment.
Thanks for the quick answer! been using benzoyl peroxide 5% on my skin and had some flaky dry skin, but it was fine after i apply mosturizers. probably would just stick with salycylic acid on my face with mosturizer then. Thanks again!
1 more question. I enjoy from time to time getting a full body massage with aromatheraphy oil. Is it still ok to have them ocassionally?
just an update after 1 week. i did use maybe half a pump of the regimen on my face and it certainly have some improvement, still have dry and flaky skin but thats nothing new, it was there when i first use bp before the regimen anyway, it doesnt hurt and only visible when i wash off my face. my skin definitely feels smoother, no new big acne breakouts yet on my back, which is really rare for me.
hoping to see visible results soon:P
2 weeks in
face issues with dryness and flaking reduced quite a bit. still there but not as noticeable as before. there are still new acne coming up but most are small. No big nodular cysts at all so far which is great. skin definitelt feel smoother and acne doesnt get irritated as much. visibly on my back stillnot much improvement but its only 2 weeks. still hopeful:P. my face is definitely looks better. it is not easy to do this regimen religiously though. have not skipped any application as of now, but i have delayed a few applications by a few hours before.
its been a whole year since i used this product, All i can say is it does takes a while for it to show its results. But the results is remarkable. Ive had back acne issue almost all my life ever since puberty and this is the first time that ive had few days or weeks without any acne on my back. I still use the product sparingly, or when one or 2 acne popping up. i went for a 2 weeks holiday without having to use the product and came back without acne. after a week, 1 or 2 start popping up and immedeatly applied, only once daily and see immediate results. all i can say is you need to stick with the regimen long enough until you see results, and when you have very less to no acne, u can start slowly reduce the application to once daily, instead of twice, then maybe once every other day and so on.
just to sum up, Ive had all the problems that being told in other topics. Ive had redness, flaky skin, dry skin, bad rash all over, and most of them time when this happens, i lay off the glycolic acid only but not completely, just reduce the amount, but continue with the BP and the wash. you really need to endure this phase though, until no new acne coming out, then u can totally stop using the glycolic acid. but if u want clearer skin, the acid is the answer. I still use the acid from time to time though. like how my skin feels after. it does makes my skin look tan, like getting sunburn since i do have fair skin. i have some acne on my face, very light and those are long gone after a month or so using this. the more severe acne on my back took a long time indeed, i almost give up mid way, coz it takes a lot of time to apply them the my whole back. but i perserve through it, since nothing else have given me any results before, and this regiment has showed promising results early on.
I guess mines takes longer to show results because my case were very severe, i got all kind of acne, some on the surface, some very deep and big, nodule like. Ive had them for 18 years already. My skin does get itchy and very red on the sides of my body where the skin is thin compared to my back, but once i stop the acid, it goes back normal after a few days.
I hope anyone who didnt get any results after using this for a few days or few month, keep trying if your acne are the same with me, severe acne on the back. i did have light acne on the face and they are gone rather quickly, thus i believed that the same can happen to my back, albeit longer.
