On The Regimen, Wedding In 9 Days! Advice Please.

I have been following the regimen for five weeks now, and have seen a massive improvement in my cystic acne. However despite adding jojoba to my moisturiser I am still very dry and flaky, and my skin looks red and dull.

I am getting married in 9 days and would really like my makeup to sit a bit better and not to start flaking by midday. I have a few ideas about what I could do, but would be grateful for your opinions on my options...

A) pull back on the amount of bp the couple of days before the wedding, and hope it's enough to reduce the dryness

B) stop the bp completely a few days before and hope I don't breakout

C) try the regimen glycolic to brighten my skin and hope I don't react or have a purge

D) power through the dryness and hope this last week my skin with adjust to the BP and normalise

E) any other suggestions?

Many thanks

Lyndsey

I am on week 5 with no improvement in fact my skin looks worse. The Aha does

A purge and I always wake up with new spots when i apply it.

Always cysts and white heads. But it does help with dryness. To me

Not

Worth the spots.

I'd cut back on the bp. This has happened to me before and I just reduce my application to once a day and BARELY put any on. Like a super tiny pea amount just lightly brushed on problem areas and that's it. Try at like 3 days before and see how it goes. If you're still flaky just go with moisturizer the day of and you should be fine. Personally I like Cerave moisturizing lotion more than Dans... It moisturizes better and soaks in really well. And it never breaks me out. Here's my blog experience of the regimen after 9 weeks if you're interested. Congrats on your wedding and I'm sure your fiance thinks you're beautiful no matter what

Hi! You are probably younger than me, but I have had many huge skin problems in my life and now I just turned 40. I am lucky that strangely my skin is "all or nothing".. I have one or two monstrous pus-y gross sore spots, but the rest of my skin looks terrific... Til that previously perfect bit of skin gets one of those horrible places and then it leaves a slight scar.

I started to use Roc skin cream with Alpha Hydroxys on my forehead (where I NEVER break out) to work on fine lines. slowly but surely I started using it on more parts of my face even though I was afraid the hydration in it would make me break out. I've been using it for 3 months now and my skin looks great. I have two big acne places that are drying up. The alpha Hydroxys (which is fruit acid in case you aren't familiar) will exfoliate the dead skin on top leaving your skin looking new and fresh. But acid is acid so I found it eats away at my sore spots too! And my sun damage and scarring is noticeably better! Wish u had more than a week, but you should try this overnight. It is expensive ($20 or so at CVS for a smallish tube) I would recommend getting the white tube with a gold square which is the basic day cream with Spf, and the gold tube of intense night repair night cream. Also, against all logical advicecI wash my face with rubbing alcohol on the oily spots. It drys and disinfects. (This is painful but in what I like to call a "HA HA F-u acne" painful sort of way. ) Then I put on the Roc. Whatever else is in the Roc hydrates too which counteracts the drying effects of the rubbing alcohol.

I believe so much in this product I just gave both the night and day cream to my sister for her birthday (we are close so she wasn't offended!)

Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Control Panel, here are some before and after pics for info. I still have red marks from old spots, chin area was my main problem zone. I have a couple of small zits still coming up on my cheeks and around my lips, but they aren't deep and easily killed with a bit of tissue!

I should have said my routine too...

Jojoba massage to remove makeup (evening only)

Cetaphil cleanser

Dan's BP (half finger length)

Neutrogena oil free sensitive moisturiser with five drops jojoba
