Benzol Peroxide 2.5?

Hey!

I've used Benzol Peroxide 10% (a very, very small amount of this stuff) and each time I used it, the next morning my face was red, swollen, and irritated as heck. I have pretty sensitive skin as it is. I'm also taking Doxycycline Mono so that doesn't help. I might try out Acne.org's 2.5% treatment. I have mild acne.

Is this a bad idea?

Redness and irritation are normal, especially for people with sensitive skin, but swelling could indicate a possible allergy. Before ordering the Acne.Org 2.5% BP, I would suggest making sure you're not allergic to BP. Maybe pick up some Neutrogena On-The-Spot 2.5% BP (available at Walmart, Target, or any drugstore) and experiment with that first. If the symptoms you described are much better, then chances are your skin was just reacting to the harsh 10% formula. But if the swelling is also present and persists or continues to worsen, then I would discontinue use and would not order the Acne.Org BP.

Here's some additional info on BP allergy symptoms:
