If you have darker skin (Asian descent or darker) be very careful with benzoyl peroxide, as irritation can put you at risk for long-term hyperpigmentation problems.

How much are you using?

You should only be doing the regimen once a day when first starting the regimen, try once a day until your skin can handle moving to twice a day.

I didn't start doing BP twice per day until I was well into week 2. I cleansed and moisturized in the mornings prior to that. When my skin seemed like it was tolerating the night-time dosage well enough, I began treating the problem areas with a very small (1/4 finger or less) amount of BP in the mornings. Slow and steady wins the race. Don't feel pressured to increase your dosages up to the maximum as fast as possible. The less you irritate your skin, the better off you will be in the long run. If that means waiting two or three weeks to let your skin adjust, then just roll with it. There's no shame in taking longer or using a smaller dosage if your skin isn't ready for the twice daily application just yet.

Good luck!
