The Regimen "ain't Doin' Sh*t"?

Hi, I've been doing the regimen since beginning of December 2013 and instead of being "almost clear" according to Dan, I'm -50% clear... Seriously my acne has gotten 50% worse. For the first month I did exactly as it said and it got horribly bad like double the normal acne and the acne got more cystic, pulsing and painful. After a month I started using the AHA and my clindamycin I've been proscribed for a couple years. It got better but was still worse then what I initially started with... My current Regimen (twice a day) is the regimen cleanser (1pump), wait 15 minutes, the regimen benzoyl peroxide (2 pumps), wait 15 min, thin layer of clindamycin (only the hot spots), wait 15 min, apply the regimen AHA (1pump only at night) for 1 minute and the the regimen lotion for 2 min (1 pump at night, 2 in the morning), then I wait 15 for it to dry before I go to bed or anything.

It's honestly pissing me off that a $5 a month and 10 min a day routine of an over the counter 2% salicylic acid scrub and clindamycin was beating out this whole 2 hour a day $35-$50 a month ordeal of BS. >:(

I'm a 16 year old male with moderate (now on the severe side thanks to the regimen). Now I even get acne in the middle of my cheeks which never happened before. My acne you could say is like an "anchor" instead of the "T zone", as in my acne is the same as the T zone except no forehead acne but Instead I get acne on my the bottom of my cheeks/chin. So it's anchor shaped. I'm on the oilier side, but have very tough skin (as in not sensitive at all usually). I haven't changed my lifestyle at all besides just the regimen, that's the only variable.

I've noticed over the years that salicylic acid tends to work better with my skin, do you think I'm somewhat allergic to benzoyl peroxide? Because my skin does get really red especially on my cheeks. And does anyone know of any good 2% salicylic lotions and or gels that preferably are in biggish bottles and that I can use in place of the benzoyl peroxide? Please help I'm so annoyed. I want to just go on Accutane but I'm having a hard time finding any doctor or dermatologist who will proscribe it here in Green Bay Wisconsin. (If anyone from Green Bay/Green Bay Area reads this and is on Accutane, can you tell me who/where proscribed it to you, thanks.)

Hey there!

As a regimen user myself, and from getting clear being on the regimen, I advise you to stick to Dan's routine very closely. Take out the clindamycin and the then stop using AHA on an every night basis. You have to be very gentle with your skin and maybe those extra steps are doing more bad than good.

Also, remember that most people who got clear from the regimen experience a lot worse acne before it got better.

Ya I agree you have to have patience! I knw it is hard. My face was so dry and red and discustingly pimply for almost 3 months before it EVEN STARTED working. It will get better I promise!
