I just realized this while washing my face this morning....
It has been a whole year since I started doing the regimen. Yay me!!! Time has flown by pretty fast and I couldn't be happier about how my skin looks. I got clear in about 10 weeks and continually worked at diminishing red marks and acne scarring after that. It has been quite a journey and I plan to still keep going.
Sharing a pic of me (bare faced + ratty tshirt and + messy hair) with some of my favorite Acne.org products. Have a great day everybody.
Congrats! Your skin looks great!
I've always wondered, how long were you on Diane before you started the Regimen? Did that not help with your acne at all? If I remember correctly, your acne was moderately severe I would say, and I was just very surprised that the DKR alone is what cleared you.
Holy sh*t, your skin is like flawless, it would be a miracle if i could get my skin completely clear like that. Im on day 13 of The Regimen and ive seen some improvement, but still breaking out sometimes. Its so discouraging, like one day i might actually be getting my active acne dried out or clearing, then the next day i might get a couple new white pimples... UGH... its like right when i see improvement, my face takes a couple steps back
Anyways, i really wanted to know why in the morning you use CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion and in the evening you use Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. What difference is there between them? I would really like to know so i can tweak my regimen if necessary. Thanks! And Good luck with keeping your skin clear!

I know, i have the same exact problem. Good luck with full healing of your face. 🙂

I was on Diane for about 2-3 years before starting the regimen. Although it did sort of clear up some of my acne, it didn't take everything away. It only cleared up a few spots on my forehead and the area near my nose. It was definitely the DKR that really did get me clear.

13 days on the regimen is still pretty early. My initial thoughts on the regimen was that it was pretty terrible because it cleared up some spots, but then so many more came to the surface...I found out that this was normal and sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. My initial thoughts couldn't have been more incorrect. I love the regimen!!
I use two different moisturizer because I live in the Philippines and most of the time we have humid and warm weather. Although I love cetaphil and it moisturizer my face like nothing else, it can be too thick to wear during the daytime. Cerave is great because it absorbs pretty fast and doesn't give me that heavy thick feeling throughout my day. But....I don't want to give up my cetaphil so I use that at night when I don't mind having my face look greasy. It gives me that really good moisturized faced feeling the next morning.
Your skin looks great! I hope my skin ends up looking half as good as yours. My hormonal acne is absolutely uncontrollable. Then again, I'm only on day 2 of the regimen.. so let's see
Hang in there! It is definitely a process and most of the time, your skin gets worse before it gets better. Good luck!
I got clear in about 10 weeks and continually worked at diminishing red marks and acne scarring after that.
Congratulations, your skin looks amazing!
Does the regimen help to reduce red marks, or is there extra steps to add to reduce the red marks? I still have moderate comedonal acne, but the thing that is the worst for me is that every new whitehead leaves a red marks for a long time.

What really helped me what incorporating AHA into the regimen. Slowly but surely it helps fade the red marks.

If youre on the regimen now and have been following it strictly for a month, you should start using AHA+, one tube should last about 4 months. Make sure to follow directions for the aha!!
First of all.... big congrats on your journey to clearing your acne. I am soo happy for you. Its always better to see one more person being successful. It has been 4 months and half since Ive been on the regimen. I am seeing results but at the same time im experiencing breakouts as usual. I am just wondering how long did it take you to see very major results like in other words when did you thought you were surprised at how much your skin was clear for good.???! Do you think its worth it to wait 6 months on DKR?!!
Congrats! Your skin looks amazing. I've seen your before and after pictures and I have some questions for you. I'm only on week 5, but I'm struggling with some stubborn cystic acne. Was your acne cystic? And if it was, how long would you say it took your cysts to finally flatten down and go away? Fingers crossed that I end up with results like yours! Please respond
How long did it take for you to get rid of red marks, hyperpigmentation and scars? How much do you use 10% AHA? I have used 5% AHA for 2,5 years now, and it still seems to irritate my skin quite a bit (although I burned my face abusing 10% AHA when I discovered it.. for 1 year I looked like I had been beaten up badly, so I was pretty happy with my acne for a while after that ).

My acne was cystic and took about 10 weeks to completely flatten them all out. I was still left with red marks from them, that took a bit more time to get rid of.

How did you get rid of the red marks/PIH? Im dealing with that now. They just wont go away.

I incorporated the AHA into my regimen. When I was completely clear I would spot treat the red marks with the AHA before I put on my benzoyl peroxide. That seemed to work for me to speed up the process a bit. But it really took a couple of months for them to completely disappear. I also made sure to wear sunscreen because my skin is very sensitive when I use the AHA.

Did you do that day and night? Did you ever mix the AHA and moisturizer together? Im mixing half and half at night, but if anything, it just makes my face red, sting, and actually makes my red acne scars even more red and defined..

I did the spot treatment every day and night. But during my night time regimen I also did the half moisturizer and half AHA. Then every third night instead of doing half and half, I would use only AHA. If you feel your face is irritated, you might want to lessen the AHA. Are you using Dan's AHA for this?
hi!
your improvement is so insipiring!!!
i'm just wondering though about your moisturizer, do you combine it or you apply first the first e.g. CereVe then the Neutrogena, if so, what is the time interval? )
thanks! and go girl!

Hi,
I'm thinking of trying the Regimen before trying out Accutane (which I'm really afraid of). Did you ever try just using the Regimen on its own to control your acne without bc pills to see if your skin would still remain clear? I'm wondering if it would work for my cystic acne without BCP.

Yes, I do combine both products. It is quicker that way since I still put on a bit of makeup.

Do you think the AHA actually moisturizes well too, or dries out your skin instead? Im starting to mix AHA and moisturizer at night again, ill just see how it goes. Did your face ever get red and sting and irritated too? Does it still, even a tiny bit? Yes, im using Dans AHA+.
