Dear everyone,
I have been using Dan's treatment and the moisturizer. I don't use his cleanser, because I didn't have Acne all over my face, just the jawline.
Now at first it was indeed very drying (but it worked, it is flat now, although I don't want to jinx it, and an outbreak could still happen, it has only been a month that I have used the regimen.) and Dan's moisturizer wasn't moisturizing enough, so I bought Jojoba oil.
Now I only use the treatment on my chin, and jawline, but in the first weeks I could feel my neck started to itch, and i do remember scratching it in my sleep (which is ALWAYS and indication to an allergic reaction.) The bottom of my jawline started to be get dry and itchy, so I used Dan's moisturizer there as well, but it wasn't quite enough.
So I later mixed 3 or 4 drops of jojoba oil to Dan's moisturizer and I have been dragging that down on my neck as well (for three days now) and it worked wonderful on my face, it softened everything and my neck isn't as dry anymore, the hyperpigmentation also seems to be fading.
BUT, I woke up today and I have a red rash on my neck, it is slightly itchy if i touch it, but there are no bums, and it is just red. It looks like a allergic rash. It looks a bit like eczema without the bumps?
I have no idea from what it is??
- Is it from the jojoba oil? because the rash is suddenly visible only three days after usage, even though my face has no allergic reaction whatsoever..
- Is it from Dan's moisturizer?? My skin did itch in the immediate first weeks when I used the regimen, even though my face is perfectly fine from it..
- Or is it from the treatment?? Because perhaps I dragged it with the moisturizer down my neck, even though my face reacts fine to benzoyl perioxide in this first month...
I am currently not applying anything on my neck, I also stopped usage of dan's moisturizer and jojoba oil...
But in the meanwhile could someone please share some comments on this?? Has anyone else experienced weird allergic reaction on places where you don't even apply anything on or intended to apply anything on???
let me know!
{PS: I have not been using anything else other than what has been written in this post. so the allergic reaction HAS to be from one of those products.}
The BP gets on your pillowcase when you sleep and your neck may get some on it because of that. Since your neck is not used to the BP and the skin there is more sensitive it got irritated. Pimples can be itchy. Dry skin can be itchy. Just because it's itchy doesn't mean it's an allergic reaction. Try changing all your bedding and not applying BP for one night and see if it calms down.

Are you sure?
Scratching in your sleep, is most likely an indication of an allergic reaction (this is what the dermatologist had once told me), also it really does look like a rash on my neck. My face did not react negatively to the BP, jojoba oil or moisturizer in any way. Which is why I find it strange....
But I will be more careful with my pillows, I didn't think about that. Thanks
I'm positive. Many skin conditions that have nothing to do with allergic reactions can cause itchy skin. Your neck just got irritated from the BP.
The neck is a sensitive spot to bp. Monitor the rash, it should go away in a couple days. If the itching becomes unbearable buy Calahist Medicated Calamine Lotion its about $6 at walgreens or cvs. This is what my doctor recommended from my rash due to acne creams. As long as you have no fever, swollen lips your okay. My rash started with a bit of redness coming and going. Then one day I awoke to a full-body rash. So give that part a rest.
If your neck is super dry use aquaphor for 3 days at night. It restores severe dry skin at a accelerated rate.

Thanks for the suggestions, unfortunately I don't live in the U.S.A. I live in the Netherlands, and Holland does not sell any of those products.
Luckily the rash isn't visible on my neck anymore (the itchyness is still there though) BUT now my cheeks are starting to get itchy and a little bit red (and slightly bumpy) it kind off looks like I am continuously blushing, and I don't use any BP there..
However I think it's because I'm dragging the BP on parts of my face/neck where I don't need it, when I am applying the moisturizer. Hopefully this will go away as quickly as the rash on my neck, and HOPEFULLY my cheeks won't break out . I'm getting a little bit worried now.
