Hi, I have struggled with acne since I was a teenager. Actually, my acne became cystic when I was a young adult. Now I'm 27, and I'm still struggling with acne. Unfortunately I have tremendous scarring. I have been on accutane before, and although I suffered severe side effects it cleared my skin completely. Problem is, less than a year after completing accutane my acne returned slowly but surely. In the past I have been on tetracycline, minocycline, doxycylcine, and I've used skin ID, all the drugstore company products, murad, DDF, and more.To stay somewhat clear I've used proactiv... I believe my skin does really well with benzoyl peroxide. Well I got sick of proactiv randomly charging my bank account and giving me overdraft fees. I also got sick of having to pay so much for a product that only helps SOMEWHAT. At my age, I just want normal clear skin! I AM DESPERATE... well, several months ago I stopped proactiv and of course, my skin broke out terribly. I went to the dermatologist who suggested I use cetaphil cleanser and moisturizer, and tretinoin cream. All I can tell you is my acne became OUT OF CONTROL at the point. Cystic, whiteheads, blackheads, every type of acne was all of over my face and even the sides of my neck! My skin was dried out and peeling and red and sore.. it was awful! I got so depressed I developed agoraphobia and my anxiety became impossible.. I became isolated. I am still very isolated. Well, desperation hit and I started using proactiv again a couple weeks ago. My face is clearing up, but not completely... it's clearer in some spots and worse in others. Overall it's MUCH better than when I was doing what the stupid dermatologist suggested. I believe benzoyl peroxide does well with my skin. It has never irritated it or over dried it, and almost always seems to help it clear up. Anyways, I know proactiv won't do the full job, but I also know benzoyl peroxide is what will help me. So, I'm going to order The Regimen products. I am going to watch the instructional video and read the isntructions over and over until it is correctly ingrained in my mind. I have a couple questions - will it bring forth a "purging" of my acne, or will it just improve it? Do I need to use this regimen to stay clear the rest of my life? It's fine with me as long as it works! Also, will the BP bleach all my clothes like proactiv's repairing treatment did? I just made sure to sleep in only white tops every night. But what about the daytime? How can I avoid my clothes getting bleached? I will check back in with any progress or downfall I experience while using the regimen. Wish me luck! I feel very hopeful that this could work for me.. and after all, what do I have to lose besides my acne? Thanks for reading this everyone.

My experience with the regimen was my acne got worse before it got better. Initially the acne I had slowly dried out but then 3 weeks later during 4th-5th week on the regimen, a whole lotta cystic acne came about.

Yes, it does bleach clothes. I've had a few tops that luckily were never bleached but I guess it depends on the material? I'm not reall sure. Still figuring out why it bleaches some shirts and not others. During the day it isn't really an issue unless you sweat a lot and the BP gets on your shirt.

Good luck on the regimen journey. Hope it give you the results you want. :)

My experience was my skin got better, then got worse and then got better and stayed better. Also bleached my exercise t-shirts but I didn't mind having a bleached t-shirt with clear skin rather than acne covered skin and a perfect t-shirt :). I also just changed my sheets and towels to white to avoid the bleaching problem there.

Good luck with the regimen, you will need some good willpower in the first couple of months, but we are all here to lend support. :)

Do it. Trust me, it's well worth. I was at my wits end back in 2008. I tried the regimen and my skin has been clear since then. Your skin will feel dry at first. And it may take up to 4 months to become 100% clear. But it works and it's well worth it. I know how you feel. Hang in there, friend! Give this a try and I think you'll be very happy with the results.

I'm 27 and have 2 huge zits each week. The past 3 years, proactiv worked fine but I had tons of hyperpigmentation so I started AMBI Fade cream (hydroquinone 2%) which made my skin look AMAZING for the first time since junior high school. However, 2 months later I started breaking out with huge zits each week. It drove me nuts trying to figure out why it was happening, for a good 9 months. Now I ordered DK's regimen and will probably drop the hydroquinone cream since it's not good with BP (even though I had great skin for a solid 2 months using proactiv BP and AMBI). Man I hate brown spots, I hate acne !!! I'm back in school going for my masters and it seems like every undergrad has clear skin, wtf !!!
