Hi, Everyone!

I've been reading the forums on acne.org for quite a while now, but I just now got around to actually making an account and posting. First, a little bit of my acne history. I first starting getting acne spots when I was eight years old--yes, eight. My skin was absolutely terrible by the time I was 12, but got much better by the time I started high school. The end of my sophomore year and beginning of my junior year of high school was a series of stressful events for me. My skin broke out considerably, to the point that the individual spots on my face were itchy, and I was prescribed an oral antibiotic that helped considerably. As soon as I went off the medicine though, my acne came back. I'm 19 now, and about a month ago, I decided that enough was enough. After trying everything in the books, I decided to give the regimen a try. For about the first week, my skin cleared up a ton, but in week two my skin started to purge and breakout. All was good again until week four and I had another breakout, followed by clearing up a good bit, then another breakout towards the end of week five. The redness and irritation has gone away, but is it normal to purge this long? I always get really excited when my skin starts to clear, but that's always followed by a breakout. Better than breaking out constantly like before the regimen I suppose.

Like I said, I've tried absolutely everything, and the regimen is kind of my last resort. I guess, I'm just looking for encouragement really. After having acne be a part of my life for so long, I begin to question if it will EVER go away. Any advice?

I think that the regimen needs it´s time to be effective, I don´t know where I read that the average of time in which usually people obtain results is from 2nd or 3rd month. I know it´s difficult to wait, I´m starting my 3rd week and I am in front of the mirror all the time looking for improvement, and feeling sad every time I get a new spot! but just consider if your skin now is better than the first day and try not to feel obsessed :)

I had this exact same thought this morning, yesterday morning I could tell my face was on it's way to crystal clear, then when I started my nighttime regimen I could see a few spots coming. It's definitely a buzzkill. But if there's anything to know about Dan's Regimen, it's that you have to be consistent and patient. There are a ton of success stories here and most seem to get completely clear end of 2nd, or into their 3rd month, so don't give up! Push on through.

Hang in there mate. You're over the hardest part and at least you skin has adjusted to the Bp and no longer red.

It's true that many people (including me) were still breaking out into the second month but the severity lessons each time. Like the above poster says, consistency and patience is the key.

Keep your chin up and keep us all posted with your progress :).
