It's helped thousands (maybe a little exaggeration) and has cleared the most severe cases of acne. It helped me stay clear for a while, not without it's side-effects, but those were worth it just to have clear skin. My BP ran out before my skin fully got adjusted to it and whilst I considered purchasing more, it just wasn't financially viable.
Yes, we can purchase store-brand regimen supplies, but I'm pretty sure that no substitute works as well as Dan's products. It would also feel a lot more legitimate to use the whole collection of products rather than a bunch of random cleansers and moisturisers (some which contain SLS, like Cetaphil). I never really felt like I was doing The Regimen, it was more like an adaptation of it.
All I was able to purchase was the BP (8oz) due to that price avoiding heavy taxing. If I were to buy for example, the 'Big Kit', I would literally have to spend well into £150+. I would love to be able to use the cleanser, BP, moisturiser, AHA+ and jojoba oil, but it would be ridiculous for me to spend all that money.
This is by no means Dan's fault. There's drawbacks for him in regards to cost if he were to make the products more accessible to those in the UK (or any EU country), but there must be a solution. I'm sure UK regimen users would definitely convert to the acne.org products if they were available here.
What's everyone's opinion on this? I've seen it brought up in the past, but there's never really been a discussion on the matter. I really wish I could have the full line of products...
It would be reassuring to use the entire regimen but those are the most dramatic improvements ive seen for regimen users and neither of them use all regimen products so it goes to show they arent neccesary for success If you dont like cetaphil, Eucerin and Avene do some really good non-comedogenic cleansers and moisturizers.
Thanks. I know there's some great alternatives out there, it would just be really cool if I could have the option to use all Dan's products in which all ingredients were chosen by him. It's much less likely that there's going to be anything that aggravates acne in his products, since he made them to work with his acne-prone skin.
I suppose I could still do it without them. Each time I've tried, I've always had quite severe flakes and I kinda put that down to not using an effective enough moisturiser (and jojoba oil). The flakes always became too much for me.
maybe change your cleanser? if i try and use something mild like cetaphil gentle skin cleanser i look like a vampire during the process of turning into dust bc im that flakey but if i use my african black soap it gets them all off. I do highly reccomend it, there's only 4 ingredients and its definitely acne safe. I havent tried it but in Boots you can get Neutrogena Dermatological Face Bar which has pretty good ingredients and good reviews and its only 2.something
Definitely get a good moisturizer but also start off using the BP once a day for 2 weeks before ramping up the dosage so you can find your limit and stay with it until your skin adjusts, then start using more.
