Hello,
New to the site, I have been scanning through for a few months and decided to give this a try since I have heard so many good reviews. I have been dealing with acne for a couple of years now. It started at age 18, with small red pimples. Now I am 22, and am expierencing cystic acne. The cystic acne would mainly pop up on my chin, sometimes on my forehead and even behind and on my ears!!! The cystic acne was becoming very painful so I began searching through sites, trying to find any natural remedy I could. The products I tried and the way I applied them was not working. Compared to some, my cystic acne is nowhere as bad as some. For the past month, I have not had any cystic acne thankfully. But, I have had clusters of pimples, 4 or 5 on my forehead and close to my temple. I also have acne on my back, sometimes huge breakouts.
Yesterday I looked over the site again to see what products I needed to get. I bought Clean n Clear facial cleanser, Neutrogena spot treatment benzoil peroxide 2.5% (It's a cream, wish it was a gel) and Clean n Clear moisturizer. With the Clean n Clear moisturizer it has Salayic Acid and I was wondering if that is okay? Do I need to get a moisturizer that does not have that in it???? Also, I got Neutrogena Scrub for my acne on my back.
Does anyone know if it is okay to use the Clean N Clear moisturizer that has the salayic acid??? Or any tips and advice you may have? Will the Regimen help with cystic acne as well??
Thank you very much.

Yes, the regimen does help with cystic acne! I get cystic acne and it was pretty bad a few months age before I started the regimen. I have a post a week back where you can actually see how bad it was.
In my opinion...swap your moisturizer for something w/o the salacylic acid. That will be way to harsh for your skin. A lot of people on the boards use cetaphil or cerave as an alternative.
Good luck! 🙂 Let us know how everything goes.
I found success with my cystic acne only by using Dan's BP. The texture seems to make it easier to apply and absorb. I occassionally use the cleanser--I prefer cetaphil for most cleansing since I have dry skin. And I mix his face cream with LacHydrin for night time only. I use cerave with sunscreen in the morning.
My point is that you may want to try Dan's BP if the over the counter stuff doesn't work for you.
