I started using DKR about 20 days ago. I didnt get dryness that bad but it has gotten way worse. I have flakiness in between my eyebrows, on my forehead, and on my cheeks. I cant stand it! I waited on using Aha because I know your not supposed to use it until a month on the regimen, but I cant stand this anymore. If I use it will it sting more badly than it would normally because I haven't been using it that long. Also, what should I do if it stings bad, just sit there and take the pain? What did you guys do the first time you used Aha?

Thank you.

Hi! I have tried AHA+ twice now and both times it has wrecked my skin. I waited until I was toward the end of my 5th week to use AHA+. It stung and my face would get red even when I used the minimum amount....but my skin seems to dislike everything everyone else likes... So I would just be careful in the amount you're using. If the stinging is too much, I would say just don't do it. Currently, I'm using rosehip oil to moisturize ONLY the dry spots (jojoba oil is also great and it didn't clog my pores) since I'm already done with my third month and my skin has gotten less dry. If you have any more questions, feel free to message me :) good luck!

Hey and welcome to acne.org! To answer your question, I would strongly advise against using AHA this early into the regimen. Your skin still have not properly adapted to the full amount of BP needed for the regimen. Adding AHA may cause an adverse reaction and set you back tremendously. My suggestion would be to use jojoba oil for extra moisturizing and combat the flaking your experiencing at the moment. Once you've reached the 5 to 8 week mark, you may add AHA to the regimen. Just add a few drops to the regular amount of moisturizer you use and apply, in order to avoid the stinging and irritation AHA may cause. Good luck and keep us up to date on your progress! :)

First, try using less BP, maybe using it only at night once a day might reduce the problems you're having.

Of course using a lot of mousturizer especially at night time since you wont be going out I presume.

Try adding jojoba oil into your regimen if you haven't already.

AHA is strong stuff and even for me 1 1/2 years into the regimen, it will sting if I don't use it properly!

If you do go for it and use aha, mix a very small amount of it into dans mousturizer, they both use the same base of ingreadients so they work in harmony together, and this reduced the potency of the aha nicely :)

Thank you for your response. I'm going to take your advice and wait until the 5th-8th week and see how it is. I didn't use it because if there's a chance it could send me back, then it's not worth the risk or my time. Thank you for you response.

Also to the other Veteran Member above this, thank you for your reply too. You guys seem to know what your talking about and you possibly just saved my skin. Much appreciated. Thanks 🙂
