Its been around a week since I washed my face with any skin care products and I am breaking out bad. Before I was using MD formulations facial cleanser (12% Glycolic Compound) with a green tea moisturizer from proactive, but I ran out of the moisturizer cause it was a really small tube and I dont want to use the facial cleanser without a moisturizer. Now I am looking for skin care products that best fit my skin type but I really dont know what my skin type is, as the day goes on my nose gets really red and oily it also has a lot of blackheads, my forehead gets oily too but I dont get too many pimples there maybe 2-3 a month. The rest of my face gets somewhat oily too but definetly not as much as my nose.
here is a picture of my left cheek my right cheek looks about the same if not a little worse.
I can't see the picture, but if you have acne prone skin then The Regimen products are a great way to get the acne under control. Be sure to read all of the instructions and watch the video. http://www.acne.org/regimen
Hi! ive been on the regimen for about a month or so and ive cleared up 99%. i had moderate acne. somewhat like whats on the side of your face but redder. I think Dan's products are effective but you have to really incorporate it in your lifestyle. like you have to make sure that you do the regimen ONLY twice a day, 10-12 hours apart. This is very important. Ive experienced itching when i dont wash my face after 12 hours, and if i do the regimen before 10 hours my skin seems extra sensitive to the bp. ive gone as far as doing the regimen in a public restroom when i went on a trip out of town. also, you have to be very patient with DOSAGE of the BP. put too much product too soon and you may suffer hypersensitivity, redness, pain, and possibly slight chemical burns ( it is peroxide after all). you have to follow the steps carefully, letting each product dry completely before applying the next step. its quite time consuming but its a small price to pay for acne free skin. the first week is a challenge as you are still getting used to a new skincare routine ( i used a timer when i started). the next 2-3 weeks are when the treatment really kicks in, so you have to be really patient and diligent, and DO NOT PICK ON YOUR SKIN! But your sacrifices will be worth it. If youre not satisfied with the products dan has a moneyback guarantee too so you dont have to worry about that. I suggest you give it a shot.
Is there any way I can find out whats causing my acne; hormones, stress or diet?? or do I have to go to a dermatologist for that? I always thought that when you reach a certain age acne just stops cause its only in teens...
Im going to order it and give it a shot, but what makes it different from any other product out there on the market? This one time I tried some neutrogena face wash and it peeled both sides above my cheek felt like I was sunburned but it was from the skin care products, after that I was always kind of worried to try any other skin care products

I believe that what makes it different is that the ingredients are high quality and safe for your skin if used properly. Also, the combination of the products in the regimen compliment each other. Like the cleanser is gentle enough to not hurt your face when you're in the initial stages of BP ( I believe products like cetaphil cleanser for all skin types are good too but I personally like sudsy cleansers and dan's cleanser is perfect IMO). The moisturizer has skin calming properties as well. They are affordable too, compared to most products out there ( consider quality, volume, and efficacy). Some other acne systems have medication in each of the steps and though this may sound good/effective, I think that causes too much stress on your delicate facial skin and would not give it time to rest and heal.
What i like most about the regimen is that we have a huge support group. we are INFORMED on how to properly use it and what to expect. Redness ( like you're sunburnt) and peeling are common and necessary effects of the medication but if we weren't warned about this, we probably would have stopped using it and would look for another treatment AGAIN, or worse, accept the fact that we do have acne and just be miserable for the rest of our lives.
Personally I have not had a single good experience with dermatologists ( no offense to derms out there). I went through a trial and error phase with a couple of derms, had to pay them their respective professional fees, had to BUY the products they prescribed, with the disclaimer that they are not sure what the cause is. they prescribed a product and said "if this doesnt work, then ________ is not the cause so im gonna have to give you a different medication" total waste of time and money for me. SOOOO.... I tried to figure it out myself. Did a lot of research, cleaned my diet, avoided stress and late nights out, and tried the regimen. I was also VERY skeptical since i knew that there are so many acne systems out there that claim to be the BEST and most effective ( i have fallen for some of their misleading advertisments). I also knew that I was gonna burn and peel for a few weeks. I even emailed them about my concern and Brandy was very prompt and patient in replying to my emails. Taking the "risk" was the best decision i ever made. The regimen is no "miracle cure," just some good ol' products backed up with years of research and personal experience. And with people taking the time to talk about these products and how it worked for them ( a bunch on youtube) says a LOT about how good this stuff is. I hope it works for you too
