So I just have a couple quick questions about the regimen. So right now im using cetaphil cleanser, Dans BP and just a drugstore moisturizer that works very well for me. Im 18 yrs old and have had mild acne since I was 13. I tend to breakout around that time of the month and just a couple spots besides that. Ive been on the regimen for a little over a month and have noticed an imporvement with less frequency in breakouts. But im still breaking out and my pores are still clogged. I was just wondering when I should expect to stop breaking out and if theres anything I can do about my pores because I am a picker and thats all Ive been wanting to do.
thank you
Yes. Please investigate your diet, and lifestyle to balance your hormones and heal your gut. Most acne is caused by diet and lifestyle- topicals are just ways to manage this, but trust me: they are no cure.
I have been trying the natural route various times for years now, and most recently I've been attempting for about 5 months to heal my skin without any chemicals. However, it was having a very bad effect on my mood and anxiety levels so I am now using BP again- but JUST to help cope with the acne on the outside while I heal it from the inside.
Healing from the inside takes time, but if you eliminate dairy, sugar and gluten from your diet (strictly) for three months, don't pick your skin, exercise a few times a week, sleep well, drink lots of water, take probiotics and a multivitamin (plus some vitex to balance hormones if you're female) I think you'll find, especially with "mild acne" that you can cure yourself.

The length of time is unique to that person. Took me 6 months to be 100% clear.
Fact is you just need to wait it out and be patient.
Hey there... Everyone's skin is different... It took about 4 months to see significant improvement, but I still experienced breakouts, though they were mild at best... I still get clogged pores and still breakout during certain parts of my cycle on occasion but nothing like before... Just stay consistent with DKR and your skin will continue to improve.. Also, stop picking as tempting as it may be... Let DKR work its magic and you'll notice you pick much less.. Good luck!
I got clear pretty quickly (around 3 months) but I would have been clearer a lot quicker if I had stopped picking and forensically inspecting my face "looking" for things to squeeze and pick. The only thing that stopped me picking was having less things to pick at as the regimen started to work.
I found that in the first week I cleared up incredibly well, but then in the 2nd week my skin was the worst its ever been. But once that cleared up I was only getting 1-2 new pimples per week during the 3-6 week. Once I introduced AHA+ in the 5th week, that was when i noticed a considerable difference with blocked pores (after another breakout in the first few days of using AHA), and my skin really started looking clear and smooth by around the 10th week mark.
So in summary, as the above posters have said, everyone is different and everyone experiences results in different ways and within differing time frames. As you have only been following the regimen for a month, you probably still have a while to go before you consider yourself to be clear, but on the positive side, you have got through those awful early weeks, plus you are already seeing an improvement so it should all be down hill from now on. Just stay persistant and patient. Those are the two main ingredients of following the regimen. Good luck and keep us posted with your progress!
