Acne.org Products
I've been using acne.org products for more than a decade now, in particular I use the cleanser to wash my face since it's the only reliable face soap I've found. I live in the Netherlands so in order to save on shipping, I usually do a big order once a year.
I ordered my last batch in March and started using it a week ago and something's wrong about it. The batch number printed on the bottom is 220M-1 and it came without pumps (another unwelcome change).
To my nose, it now smells like there's something moldy in there. I've opened 3 of the 7 large (16oz) bottles and they all smell the same to me. My wife also has been using it for the past 3 years and she also noticed the bad smell and went back to her regular soap. Not sure if it's a coincidence or not, but I even had a minor breakdown after being free from acne in the face for a very long time.
I wonder if it's just the new way it's going to be and I will unfortunately need to find a new face soap or if my batch is bad...
In the same order I also bought a small 3.4oz bottle which does NOT have the bad smell so it's very easy to compare.
I noticed another topic about formulation change... I hope if this is the culprit, then maybe it's changed back. Now I have 3.5L of Cleanser which I can't really use...

I don't notice a difference in smell myself. And the ingredients are the same, so it shouldn't irritate your skin. It is a bit stronger now though, so try using less of it. It is more powerful now.
As far as scent goes, you are not the only one who has mentioned it, so I'll see what I can do about it. I'll play with the extracts and see if I can get it more pleasant. But it'll be a while before I can get that into production.
I tried using the new cleanser again and once again had a breakout, with irritated skin on the neck/beard line and a acne on my chin. This hasn't happened for years.
I would really wish to get the old formula again... Maybe there's some leftover old bottles? At least until I can find a replacement. I only have one bottle left from my old batch... 🙁
