Hi Dan,
ive been using acne.org for since 2015. It cleared my skin. Recently the new AHA starting giving me cystic acne whenever I use it. I went back to my last old AHA formula bottle and my skin cleared again. Can we still purchase the old AHA formula please? It has been my holy grail. I dont mind paying more for the old formula because it works.
It's probably not coming back anytime soon, if ever. Better to start looking for another product or making your own which can be much less expensive.
Edit: @bitterparsley You might want to consider using lemon juice, which contains about 5% citric acid. You can also use yogurt. This will give you about 0.5% lactic acid.
I have my whole supply chain committed, so it won't be coming back. Sorry about that.
But...more importantly, you want to look for what is causing your cystic acne. It simply doesn't make sense that it would be the AHA. I personally double check the pH of every batch and it's acidic enough to really peel the skin. Plus it has a lot of other good stuff in there. So it wouldn't make biological sense that it could possibly cause cystic acne.
Did you try something else at the same time? A sunscreen perhaps? A new medication? Physically irritating the skin with a facemask maybe? Try to think of what might be causing the issue.
@mayonnaise thank you :), yeah, Dan replied its not coming back. Sigh, it was so good while it last.
@bitterparsley The old and new AHA are both the same as far as mildness/strength goes. That comes from the amount of glycolic acid and the pH, which is always the same.
It often seems like nothing changed, but there are SO many variables in life. If something all of the sudden caused cystic acne, it's worth really racking your brain about it.
@dan-4 hi i purchasedacne.org benzoyl peroxide four months ago and i was doing well for a while until lately when my face has started breaking out after introducing glycolic acid.....what could be the problem? is it the glycolic acid or is it the benzoyl peroxide which has stopped working coz the tube is almost empty kindly help

Benzoyl peroxide shouldn't stop working, and the addition of glycolic for sure should make the skin clearer and not more broken out.
I would urge you to look for other variables as well. Like I mentioned to Bitter Parsley, Did you try something else at the same time? A sunscreen perhaps? A new medication? Physically irritating the skin with a facemask maybe? Try to think of what might be causing the issue.
@dan-4 it started with small bumps which I thought it was purging but it didnt go away and it grew bigger and bigger. Ive been racking my brains over it. So I only use BP now. Which has managed to slowly clear it.
This is frustrating, huh? Sometimes things are literally just coincidence. If you're clearing, that's what's important. But, I would also say for sure you don't need to be afraid of using AHA. If the BP doesn't get you 100% clear, feel free to reintroduce AHA. There's no way it's going to cause acne.
@dan-4 i have been using Nivea moisturizer , Nivea sunscreen , imperial leather soap as the cleanser and the acne.org benzoyl peroxide for almost 4 months , ive not added any new medication this is what have been using all through just recently hoped to AHA glycolic acid from acne.org as well on the fourth month ..
Hmm. If you can let me know the exact products with a link I can take a look at the ingredients in those products you're using.
My best advice for people is to only use acne.org products until you're completely clear. Then you can change 1 variable at a time such as a different moisturizer, etc.
Also, just as an aside, sunscreens are soooooo commonly a culprit. They can break people out for sure. So that's one of those variables you want to be careful with.
