Hi All,
so im about a month into the regimen. Ive been having pretty good results as far as my acne clearing up but my face has been getting these red, itchy blotches. I used to get this before the regimen when i touched my face after using antibacterial liquid at work. But i noticed that its been more frequent and severe. I have noticed a reddish tint on my bare skin except around the eyes, which is probably because i dont use the regimen in that area. That doesnt bother me so much. But almost immediately after ive put on the moisturizer, i get the really really bad itchy blotches. Ive only been using a little larger than a pea-size with the BP and i dont get the blotches after the BP, only after the moisturizer. So last night, it was unbearable so i washed my face again and used my old Clean&Clear moisturizer, and the itching went away. Any recommendations as to what i should do?
Redness, itchiness and tiny bumps that may be pussy and look like zits but sting or burn are all signs of an allergic reaction. It can take a week or sometimes even a few weeks to have an immune response to something that is not agreeing with you, whether it is a food or a wash or makeup.
It's definitely not a good sign that shortly after applying, you're getting redness and blotchiness. I think it is best to cut this out of your routine and opt for something gentler. What are the full list of ingredients in the moisturizer? Try to identify what could be a potential allergy trigger in the list of ingredients. If you list them here, I'll try to give suggestions as to what the irritant could be.
Avene makes hypoallergenic products for abnormally sensitive skin and acne sufferers. It is so safe it can be used on people who have had surgery or burns. I recommend it.
Ive used the moisturizer from this site. Thats what gave me the blotches. The following night, i tried to use the moisturizer again and let each product of the regimen dry for longer on my skin, and i didnt use as much moisturizer as they recommended, and it worked out better. And i was gentle on my skin before, but i was even more gentle this time. Just two small blotches right above my eyebrows, which was where i always got it. And they werent as unbearably itchy.
I will definitely look into the moisturizer u recommend. Thank u so much for your help!

Sounds like you are going through a rough time. Dryness and irritation is to be expected during the first few weeks into The Regimen but it eventually goes away. This is particularly noticeable when applying Moisturizer.
Use Acne.org Regimen products precisely as outlined and make sure that you are not using any other products along with The Regimen to get you perfectly clear.
Make sure that you are using 2 full pumps of The Acne.org Moisturizer twice a day or as often as needed to prevent dryness and irritation. You may also add in 5-6 drops of Jojoba Oil into the Moisturizer each time you apply it for additional moisture.
I know it's tough at the beginning but just be patient and you will have clear skin.
