Hello! If anyone can help me, please reply back :)

So I'm finishing up my first week of AHA (started using AHA two days short of my 5th week) and I've been breaking out quite badly. The fist couple of days, I didn't noticed anything out of the ordinary and I only used 1/3 of the length of my index finger ( very thin line). Now, before using AHA, I made sure that I was already using the full amount of BP and it cleared me up quite well! My left side of my cheek stopped breaking out and my right cheek and chin were healing up after the initial breakout from the BP. However, a couple of days into the AHA, I started to breakout again EVERYWHERE. I mean like, old acne that went away by themselves started to swell up again. Is this normal? Usually, the pimples start out as flat red dots, then swell and become painful and then come to a head (which, unfortunately, sometimes I pop because there's so many of them!). Also, I noticed my neck is getting very dry and ....leathery? Is this normal? How long does it take for the initial breakout to stop? Please reply if you have any knowledge because I'm getting quite discouraged....

Syrupop, has your AHA intial breakout calmed down? I'm almost done with week 2 and I don't get the white heads as much as before but I'm still getting painful under the skin acne on my forehead, cheeks (1-2 active spots) and the lower jaw area of my right side... I'm considering quitting because I don't see much difference for the better...

I have the same problem right now. After my old acne treatment disconnected, I had to switch to a AHA product because I heard some good things about it. Within a week of using the AHA product, I started to get so much flat red marks which later forms into red bumps with white heads by the next day. I went from clear skin to over twenty white heads around my chin area :/ Try not to pop anything and see how it goes for one month. Usually acne products causes breakouts at first and then clears you up pretty well which I hope will happen for the both of us.

:( unfortunately, I chickened out and stopped with the aha. My skin is less itchy and some of the spots have began to go down. My older brother, who is also on the regimen said that he tried it for a month and had the same effects on his skin but the breakouts didn't stop until he stopped with the aha. I wish you better luck than me! But as of right now, I deeply regret using aha... I feel like the last month was wasted and I just started back with square -1 ( it's worse than what I started...)

You made a good decision to stop the AHA. Dans benzoyl peroxide works to get rid of red marks it takes about a month and up to get rid of them all.

But don't focus on the red marks. Its better to have zero acive pimples and red marks then to have active pimples.

As long as your not breaking out clearskin is coming soon. I didn't even notice my red marks go away that's how quickly they went away for me. I used to have like hundreds all over my back.
