London Tap Water

Hi guys

Im from the north of england.. Where the tap water is better than any bottle of Evian or Vittel. Never suffered acne there, except usual teenage acne, which i managed to shift 100% to have perfect skin.

From then, until i moved to London, I was clear ALL the time. wasnt using any creams, gels, vitamins. just washing once a day with boots botanics exfoliator. and my diet was a normaly student diet.. kebabs, beer, drugs, pizza. no acne flareups whatsoever.

THEN... i move to London. and got lots and lots and lots of acne. :wall:

the water here is so shit. full of limescale and crap. i was wondering if washing with/drinking this water has an effect on acne? also maybe the pollution and shitty air here?

my acne is under control now, but i was seriously considering giving up my job and moving out of london when it was at its worse..

any comments on this would be awesome, before i make this drastic move one day!

thanks in advance guys. hope the regimen is working well for you all. acne is a real bastard.

I don't drink tap water due to its mercury content (I realised I was suffering from mercury/amalgam poisoning - My acne's getting better now, slowely). I drank a glass of water after my three day fast. I was so ill I had to lie in bed.

I dont go to london often, but I am aware I feel 'dirty and greasy' when I get home and feel the need to shower.

The only other time I felt like that was when I was in NYC.

City air !!

When did you move to London? How old were you? Could it just have been coincidence that acne strickened you at the same time that you moved to London?

I was thinking the same thing, however from reading mishmosh's post I suppose the atmosphere may have played a part..

I wouldn't suggest it caused his acne, but suppose, if you will, that it helped set it off..

was 23 when i moved here. so been here just over a year now.. i guess it could have been a coincidence, as it seems to be clearing now slowly.. or is that my skin getting used to the grime??

I think you may be on to something here...

I live in London during uni term time and my acne always seems to get much worse, despite efforts to control it. Maybe I'll try drinking bottled water instead.

I live in Lonond at the moment, and as always, with Acne, I am drinking lots of water to try and remedy the problem. I think you might be onto something here though, without the pollution is high, and my Mother always comments that when she removes her makeup with a wipe at the end of the day, the wipe is actually slightly blackened with dirt and grime, and my mother has flawless skin, and after 4 days of staying with me, she had the first spot she's had in 18 years, she stopped drinking the tap water and her spot subsided in around 5 days. I think the water may be too hard for some peoples bodies and I am going to stop drinking the Tap Water and see.
