Hey guys, I suffered from hormonal cystic acne for over 3 threes and it took me so long to find out the cause and it finally healed!! I don't normally post on forums but I thought by posting this it would help someone out by sharing my story.

After suffering from adult acne on my cheeks, jawline, and chin, I decided to try and clear it up by changing my diet and lifestyle habits as I heard heaps of stories about it. Here is my story!

Diet: Over time, your bad habits aren™t doing your skin a favour. Poor diet, partying, stress and not exercising will show on your skin; well for most of us anyway. Your body is trying to tell you something! Too often we just want to heal our problems with a quick fix when really it is something we need to look into and listen to what our bodies are telling us. After learning all of this, I completely changed my life around for the better. I cut out all the bad foods and beverages and added all the healing and nourishing foods which I was never consuming in my diet. Within a few months, I had noticed a little difference in my acne. But it had not completely cleared up. I still suffered from painful, inflamed cysts. But I was so passionate about healing my acne the natural way I did not want to give up without a good fight. I had kept up this ˜natural™ route to clear my acne, but then it had been a year and I did not get the results that I had wished for every night. At this point I was still suffering from ˜skin anxiety™ and was obsessing over everything I put into my body. I tried many different diets; gluten free, paleo and even sugar free. I had hoped for a miracle at this point. I was almost ready to give up, and try another birth control pill.

Gut Health: I kept researching and came across leaky gut causing acne. All of the pointless diets, cleansers, pills and tears I would of saved by treating my leaky gut first, and then my imbalanced hormones. I did hours of researching into leaky gut and the next day followed the appropriate steps to healing leaky gut naturally with the encouragement of gut-loving foods and good quality probiotics and other supplements that heal digestive disturbances. Within a few weeks, the inflammation went down drastically. And a few months later, I was only getting one spot here and there every few weeks. Although I am left with scarring and the occasional breakout, it's safe to say I am free of my stubborn adult acne. My periods are regular and my hormones are able to balance now that I was absorbing the right nutrients correctly.

If you're experiencing acne, listen to your body. Have a look at where you're breaking out and why. Seek help from a professional. Although I am still left with acne scars, I will be forever grateful what this experience has taught me. If you were just like me, searching the internet for endless acne cures, don™t give up just yet. The reason you may be breaking out may be so simple and can be treated naturally.

Can you please tell us what foods you avoided?
I'm trying to do the candida diet as well but I've only managed to go 5days with very low sugar, after my 5th day I binged on fruits just cause I miss them so much.
I'm gonna try to start again tomorrow and this time I'm gonna stick to it. Hopefully.
I know high GI food causes inflammation in my body. It makes me bloat and I'd get eczema the following day. Food such as rice, bread and pasta.
Now, I'm dealing with these skin colored bumps on my forehead and between my brows. I've been searching and reading a lot about them. Pityrosporum folliculitis is what it's called. It shows up when you have a yeast overgrowth. Yeast feeds off sugar and I've been eating lots of fruits since last year.
i've been to a lot of dermatologists and they keep on prescribing me antiobiotics and creams which doesn't help. I've been to 2 courses of accutane. Acne always comes back after a year.

I'm gonna try to heal myself naturally now. I've already cut all types of grains. Gonna try to eliminate fructose just to see if my skin improves.

Bro, its unlikely you have candida, its an easy and cheap test for it (stool).
Gluten and casein are thing to watch out cause they leak trough your gut.
Eliminate all dairy and grains including processed foods cause they contain them. Eat fruit, potatoes and sweet potatoes, rice, grass fed meat, chicken, turkey, vegetables and you will be considerably clear in 2 weeks. But anyway im interested in your accutane yourney, please write me a pm.

I've already eliminated dairy, refined sugar and grains but I'm still having these skin colored bumps on my forehead and the side of my cheeks. I still have very oily skin with whiteheads and a few blackheads.

I'm doing a Low Carb Low Sugar diet and I'll post an update every end of the week.

I'm never going back to accutane after 2 courses, It impaired my healing while I was on it. It also gave me depression twice! Cos I've taken 2 rounds of tane(took medication for it, I'm better now).
