Hello,

Im reaching out in hopes that someone might be able to provide some advice on acne treatment. I read posts on how you can cure your acne through diet changes and I was hoping to find out how.

I just switched over to an organic, vegan, paleo type diet and my old acne began disappearing within a day or so, along with quite a bit of inflammation, but after about four to five days, the inflammation began to increase and new acne began to appear.

Below, Ive listed everything Ive been eating since Ive made the switch:

Week 1:

2 lbs of white rice

of a grapefruit

1 cucumber

1 apple

1 tangerine

15 red potatoes

2 tomatoes

3 pears

lbs of carrots

6 oz of blueberries

2 broccoli crowns

Week 2:

1 can of corn

2 lbs of white rice

1 apple

3 tangerines

4 bananas

9 mandarins

15 red potatoes

2 tomatoes

1 red bell pepper

1 green bell pepper

6 oz of blueberries

2 broccoli crowns

lbs of carrots

Ive been eating white rice, red potatoes, and fruits almost every day, so I dont know if carbs and blood sugar are the contributing factors. Should I change out white rice for cauliflower rice and red potatoes for sweet potatoes? Does anyone have a specific list of fruits that I should eat and how often, in order to prevent spikes in blood sugar?

Would you be able to provide a list of foods that you eat daily and weekly?

Thank you for all your assistance.

Best,

I've been doing some (okay, a lot) of research and have been making major adjustments to my diet. I've been low-carb for a long time, so sugars are not the issue for me (thankfully). But while making changes, I have to remain aware, so that I don't get to many sugars, or it could become a problem...my problem is that my ratio of meat products to veggies was out of whack. That can result in high androgens, as well as other problems.

Right away, looking at your diet...way too many fruits. Your sugars are high. It's a common problem among vegans...they get acne from it and they get fat. (Think green vegetables!)
You may want to try looking up low-carb diets, so you can get an idea of where you want your carb intake to land and how many carbs are in the foods you're eating.
I am not trying to go strict vegan or paleo, just incorporate the influence. The reason--completely eliminating meat products results in some serious deficiencies long-term and I'm trying to get off that train. From what I can tell from research, I should shoot for organic whenever possible and eat a ratio of 80% veggies/ 20% meat products (easy on the dairy!). Of course I want to eat fruits for their antioxidants, but go easy so that I don't get too much sugar in the diet.
You are on the right path...it's a big change, it takes a little trial and error to find what works for you.
Good luck!

Too many fruits. White rice is a no no (look up cauliflower rice instead), and corn is way starchy... I would look into more of a candida diet which is low GI foods, no dairy, minimal sugar, no grains. Lots of lean meats, non starchy veggies, and tons of water!! I would most definitely lay off fruit and white rice!
