Good morning y'alll,

So all my life I could never ever eat anything 'junky' without breaking out afterward (any fried food - a new pimple almost immediately after the meal. Some   candy - a huge cystic zit a day later). But my family rarely buys this kind of stuff (we are the 'granola' type of people if you get what I mean).  So my skin has never been exactly bad. Three zits on the side of my face, maybe on my hairline, typically, and I could live with that! I didn't worry too much about my face, did home remedy treatments whenever I thought it was needed and that was it.  But this year is a different  story and not a better story either :(
I got back from a vacation in August where I admit, I ate a ton of crappy food. And I was expecting a breakout! But nothing like what happened.  For WEEKS, my skin was hot, inflamed and itchy. Specifically my acne was itchy. I was calm about it, thinking that it was just my body purging all of the toxins that it can't        handle...but then the acne stayed.  However, it only became hot and itchy when I ate certain foods (peanuts, yogurt) so I am thinking that I might have an actual   allegy to one of these foods.  So after researching quite a bit I have decided to go paleo for a bit and see how my skin does.
Are any of y'all on that food/lifestyle and has it improved your acne?

The one thing I do know is that itchy skin and eczema are often associated with dairy. My son's nutritionist is very knowledgeable and full of info, and I try to share what I know when applicable. She recommended a dairy-free diet for him, not for acne but other stuff going on but a history of sensitive skin that broke out in hives easily (coupled with GI issues and lactose intolerance) was a big tip-off that my son had issues with dairy. Try finding non-dairy substitutes and see if this helps the itchiness.

Hope this is helpful! :)

Hello,
Paleo diet is a good diet to avoid gluten, and high GI foods. Two flies with one hit. Acne is 99% holistic problem.
I dont eat palleo personaly but avoiding gluten and dairy is my fix for clear skin, even if it is hard for me.
Junk food, i get craves, i eat it and i get acne, but most of the time im good.

Paleo combined with exercise (walking, dance cardio, strength) is what makes me clear and stay clear.
