Ive always had a fast metabolism and i feel like if I dont eat enough i will lose weight, which will make me skinny. Anyways this is my normal daily routine: Breakfast 7.30am: oatmeal+yoghurt+fruit. Then around 10:30am: Ill have a granola bar and a banana. then at 12;30pm, Ill have a big lunch. then around 3;30pm a wholewheat sandwhich with turkyslices. then ill have dinner at 7-7.30.
So I basically eat 5 times a day with 3 hours in between meals. My supplements consist of vitamin b5 and Carnitine.
Now heres the deal. I remember flying out to florida the other day, being stuck in an airplane for 10 hours. So I didnt eat alot. And after I got out of the plane it took me probably 6 hours to eat after that. The day after I also didnt eat as frequently.
Strangly enough those 2-3 days really didnt break me out at all! I Had Alot of stress and I ate unhealthy. Waking up the day after the flight my skin looked better, dried out a bit (which is good for me) and not that inflamed.
Will changing my eating patern work? I feel like the b5 doesnt work that well because I eat so frequently, that way it doesnt absorb as good.
Any help is much appreciated!
Yes. It could. It can keep your blood sugar/insulin levels elevated. Also, you need to have a period of fasting. Going hungry once in a while stimulates numerous processed that won't happen otherwise. Hence the anti-aging calorie restriction diets. And for those that don't want to be miserable, Intermittent fasting in which you eat all your meals within a certain number of hours each day and fast the rest of the day. The most extreme is the Warrior Diet which involves eating within a 4 hour window. Less extreme is the eating within more like an 8-10 hour window leaving a 14-16 hour fast.
We've discussed it a lot here in the past, with many saying they can be less strict with the foods they eat while doing this. Info

Thank you! That is exactly what I have been looking for! I haven't seen your post before, but I just read it and it sounds really interesting. I am going to try to skip dinner Saturday(Tomorrows a hectic day) and see what happens. Like you said, you can not handle not having breakfast or lunch( I'm also like that). Except I have NEVER skipped dinners before, so I am curious to see how my body's going to respond.
I must say, I started eating less today and I am noticing less inflammation. It may also be the Omega 3 I started taking 3 days ago...
No, it wouldn't make a difference. Also those supplements aren't helpful, either.
Oke, your response isn't very constructive. Why isn't B5 helpful? I used it when my acne was pretty bad and I saw results within a week. Now I must say that it doesnt clear it up, it just reduces it. I started taking Omega 3. maybe that will help a little more. But please explain

Yes, I just read it again and was reminded of all the benefits. Including that it reduces cell proliferation, which means it may specifically reduce the hyperkeratinization/hyperproliferation of skin cells that are at the root of acne formation. If you search for intermittent fasting, you find many threads filled with people saying how well it worked for them. But that thread I posted is filled with real information.
And Lucas, if I was susceptible to the placebo affect, then all those years of antibiotics and accutane should have worked. But they did nothing.

What was the point of taking antibiotics and Accutane for years if they didn't work for you in the first place?
Yes. What was the point? But at the time I believed thedermatologistsand they kept trying different antibiotics. And then later 2courses of accutane. And why do the people making the many, many 'about to start my second (or third, or fourth or fifth) course of accutane" threads do it? Why do the derms keep prescribing it? What's the point? They are not the solution and are very bad for you.
