Hi, people! I've been on this diet for a week. I don't eat any sugar, dairy, grains, wheat, beans... For the first 3 days it started improving and I thought that's it! But now after a week I have about 10 painful bumps and they are red and nasty! I don't understand why it happend to me? What am I doing wrong? Somebody's on this diet too? How is it going? Any hepl appreciated!

I know nothing about the Paleo diet but one thing I do know is that basing it on one week is not enough.

your sudden flair up could come down to

1. skin going through a purging phase due to the diet

2. the diet actually is causing the acne

3. had no affect

My advice would be to ride it out for another 3 weeks. 4 weeks is usually a good period to test something out.

Personally, to get my acne under control I had to stop all oily foods (including ALL junk food), soft drink and coffee. that took a total of 2 years and now I am finally just left with moderate acne. Currently started on Dan's regimen to hopefully aim for that clear skin I have been dreaming of.

I stopped all oily foods too, went on a very strict paleo diet. But i ate a lot of almonds and i think it might cause acne? Am i right? Now I stopped eating them and i will see how itll affect. Btw im 18 and i have been suffering for 5 years!

I've been on paleo for a month now, and didn't see results until week 3-4. This is in combination with changing my cleansing routine too, so I can't attribute it all to the diet. Like invisible said, a week is not nearly enough time and could just be purging from the healthy foods.

What are you typically eating in a day??

Well, basically I eat vegetables. Veggie salads with cucumber, tomato, avocado, onion and olive oil. Today I ate a few apples and three heplings of that salad and I'm gonna eat mushrooms now! It's been 11 days now and I'm still breaking out! And those bumps pain me!!! They're just not healing... I'm planning to start 5 day water fast tomorrow... I think I'll opean a new thread about it and keep you posted.

I've also eaten a lot of cauliflower and eggplants recently.

No meats or eggs?? Are they abnormal breakouts, or similar to when you weren't on paleo? You might need a bit of protein from meat and some dense carbs in there! Sweet potatoes, yams, good quality chicken etc.

If you're eating 3x salad during the day, i'd change it up a bit and get some variety in there. Take a look at low histamine foods as well.
