Hey everyone... I'm a 24 year old male with severe acne on my back, moderate on my neck. I recently just ordered Clearetto, the saw palmetto supplement and I just read that this can possibly enlarge male breast...

I would love to hear other people stories who have tried Saw Palmetto (preferably other guys) and if they did in fact experience this side effect. Also is it just at a very high dosage this happens? The clearetto has about 650mg of saw palmetto and I'm not sure if this will cause such a reaction..

Thanks!

Most men won't take it cause it interferes with male hormones. I know its used in Europe for males with prostate issues but its not recommended for males with acne. I'd ask a naturopath or read about it online .
I suggest vitamin like from cod liver oil, vitamin b5 and maybe spearmint tea. Spearmint affects hormones too but a lot less than other herbs. I read drinking 2 cups of spearmint tea daily reduces DHT ( bad testosterone) and reduces skin oil.

okay. but why is it being used by males with enlarged prostate? and what i know, it just suppresses the conversion of testosterone to its actie form in the skin which is DHT

Don't touch the stuff! I used if for a few days and noticed it was affecting my manhood so i stopped instantly! Saw palmetto is for womens hormonal acne. Try avoiding problem foods (gluten, dairy, sugar), take fermented foods, and if you think your acne is hormonal (is acne after pushups, working out) try drinking 3 tulsi tea, and take ashwaghandha ( think that's how you spell it)

Imnot exactly sure but I know its used in Europe but not recommended by the US doctors. Maybe it has to to with age( maybe the side effects are worse in younger men). I'd ask an herbalist or a naturopath if you'd like specific details.

I believe that lower doses are safe for men, but 650mg seems a bit much
