Dairy and grains are probably the biggest food groups in acne causing, and people find great success in eliminating them, but some people cannot live without carbs (such as me).I wanted to start a topic where people post grain and dairy foods that are either very good or very bad for acne-prone people. I'm going to start with 'Quaker old fashioned oats' which do not cause me to break out, and make me feel good and energized. A bad grain that makes me breakout within hours is any 'refined flour'. Pretty sure any wheat product causes breakouts as well, but have not experimented, and probably not gonna. Anyways go ahead and post people!
somehow non gluten pasta is actually yummier than reg pasta but its also 3 times more expensive..i also rly like round rice (so yummy) and just rice, it has no gluten in it. buckwheat and oats also doesnt have gluten but im sick of them, dont wanna..
i ate wrap yesterday and there was lavash of wheat, i didnt break out today but..
does gluten causes breakouts even if ur not gluten intolerant??
Thanks for the links alternativista. And about the carbs and grains, it is really hard to get a decent amount of carbs from just veggies and fruit.
Not really.
Fruits and veggies are mostly simple carbs, which don't do much for your body, right? And then there's starchy veggies like potatoes and corn, which have high glycemic indexes, definitely when cooked. So those are no goes. The only great carb food that isnt a grain are sweet potatoes and like onions and broccoli, which i eat a crap load of and still am not able to get enough carbs.

There are All kinds of squashes. Eggplant. Jicama. Avocado. All kinds of beans. Nuts and seeds.
And I don't know what gave you the idea fruits and vegetables don't do much for the body.
They don't do much for the body 'carb-wise'.
i still don't understand that. But I guess what you are looking for carb sources that are low glycemic and high in resistant starch so they supply energy longer. Slow Carbs. Such as the squashes, beans and sweet potatoes I mentioned above. You can eat grains too, if you want. Just don't fill your diet with them and prepare them properly. I eat buckwheat nearly every morning. I don't think it's the best choice, it's just the kind of breakfast i want.
