Title pretty much explains it all. I have come across several sites with very detailed face mapping and its leading me to believe that I have a serious underlying issue at hand eusa_think.gif

I think current face mapping techniques are somewhat useless, but there does seem to be a different cause behind different types of acne and the locations of the acne. Problem is, there's no evidence yet to determine what is linked to what. I'm sure science will get there in the next few years, though; we've finally realized that inflammatory evens begin before P. acnes colonization, and that was a big change from the previous model.

Hopefully we'll be there soon! But that's very interesting so pretty much BP and other anti-bacterial agents are useless in preventing acne?

They're still pretty useful, since killing the bacteria means less secondary inflammation like that in pustules. But they're mostly useful for their antiinflammatory properties, and it's these properties that lead to the results we see from pharmaceuticals. Benzoyl peroxide and doxycycline, for example, both have potent antiinflammatory effects in addition to their antibacterial effects; we thought that they worked for acne because of their antibacterial effects, but that's not really the case.
