Hello! I'd like to share how I got rid of my acne so that it might help some of you get rid of yours.
Here's the short version: cleanser= pine tar soap, treatmen=paleo diet, moisturizer=jojoba oil, switch from liquid makeup to mineral powder
full story:
I stopped using BP because it made me extremely dry and itchy. I weaned off of it while starting a gluten free diet. This was Jan 2012.
The diet worked amazingly until my acne came back a few months later. I stumbled upon the paleo diet and decided to try it immediately. I had been eating a lot of soy, dairy, sugar, and grains still and paleo made me stop that. My acne cleared up again. I started that in October 2012
I had been using liquid makup to cover acne and scars, and having to wash it off was tough without irritating my skin, so one of the most important things that helped me heal was switching to mineral powder. I use maybelline. I don't have to rub it off and I don't mind sleeping in it. I only wash my face once a day. At this point I wasn't using any soap on my face, just running it under water in the shower.
I also stopped using daily sunscreen. I think that made a huge difference also. I read that a diet high in antioxidants makes sunscreen unnecessary. I honestly don't know if that's true or not but I'm pretty sure all the excess sugar and processed foods I'm not eating now would have made me age much more than the minimal sun I get daily.
I still had breakouts now and then and the thing that made me pretty much 100% breakout free was pine tar soap. I discovered it very recently. My friend was using it and his skin looked incredibly better, I tried it and it worked. I feel that I finally found my perfect regimen!
I am still looking for ways to exfoliate without irritating my skin because anything with microbeads breaks me out immediately. I'll probably experiment with bentonite clay masks once in a while.
Thanks for reading, good luck on your journeys
Hi, wow. That's amazing. I have hyperpigmentation and it's quite mild but it's very annoying for me as up until the age of 24 I had flawless skin. I think my diet is terrible - I eat a lot of processed foods, lots of sugar, cookies, cakes etc. I really want to try the paleo diet but it's just hard to make that change I guess but I am willing to try it if it clears my skin your post is definitely motivating me to try it out.
I'm curious about the long term affect the paleo diet has. My clients, as well as myself, have a ton of food allergies that are included in that diet. Knowing that foods do trigger cancer has me intrigued by what our so called minor allergens would do to us if we ate them a lot more than we do now. I would assume cause us to have new health problems by activating a Gene that probably would have laid dormant most of our lives. Hmmm... anyway, congratulations to you.

How about a wash cloth. DO NOT USE THINGS WITH MICROBEADS. Those tiny plastic beads are filling up our water ways and being ingested by the birds & the fish we eat. So is the lint from polar fleece, btw.
