Hello guys
I think my story might be useful
I lived for 27 years in Italy
Eating pretty everything being part of the Mediterranean diet: pasta, greens, meat, fish, bread, fruits and vegetables
Never had acne except for some isolated pimples very seldom
Im living in the Us for 10 months now and in last 3 months im experiencing bad acne expecially on neck, cheek and sonetimes nose
I had in my forehead a red area for weeks
I got the something was wrong with diet
I was eating soy milk, cornflakes, lot of pasta, lot of bread, big breast chicken, meat
Somebody told me that cheap chickes is fed with hormones
I cut it
I cut it soy milk
Cornflakes
I reduced a lot pasta and bread
I think Usa has serious issues with foods
Never had a problem in italy
Now everything is getting better after 2/3 weeks replacing wheat, soy and sugars
Now im eating greek yog, fruits, seeds, almonds, green tea, greens, veggies, meat, fish, few pasta and lot of legumes/beans
In last days i had a little breakout
Im trying to understand what caused it
A question:
Is there a relation, something in common between soy, wheat, cereals (that im sure here in the Us are bad for me) and beans/lentils (my hint is last breakout was caused by them) ?
Thanks
Where you eating soy in Italy? Why don't you eat the same as you were in Italy?
And they really don't give chickens hormones. They manipulated them into growing fast enough through breeding and diet. Which probably screws up their hormones.

I had the same issues when I moved to the US. There are far more preservatives and colorings in food in the US than Mediterranean countries that's for sure. Also, you can find more soy in foods in the US than in Europe.
But another culprit could be the poor tap water quality in your area, depending on where you live now - you can check the city's government site to see what they put in the water; if it's fluoride and chlorine, then that could affect your skin. In my experience, the water in Europe is generally cleaner and more rigidly controlled (not everywhere, in the UK it's chlorinated). If the water you wash your face with is of a worse quality in the US, that could have affected the PH of your skin.
Grains and legumes are often genetically modified in the US. It's possible that the process of genetic modification introduces unwanted gene fragments into the organism in question, which could lead to an antigenic response.
Soy and corn are the only grain or legume I know of that's commonly GMed. But yes, it is the lectins they are sipping around and they are the culprits in allergies.
