Hi Guys!

So, I've heard sooo much about how diet affects the skin, and of cause, no doubt about it.

But can you be too fanatic about it? I have developed some habbits and essential foods, that I have been eating for the last 7-8 months. But I havent really had anyone to look at my diet.

I know that you guys are not dieticians, but any input or advice, comments, would be great.

I Dont eat dairy, nor wheat/gluten and hardly any sugar.

A typical day :

Breakfast:

1 glass of water, first thing in the morning

1 cup of peppermint tea

100 g. of black beans/kidney beans/white beans/lentils or chickpeas

1 tablespoon of pumpkinseeds or 1 tablespoon hummus

some veggies (broccoli, kale, tomatoes, cucumber, carrots)

or: 100 g of wild salmon with veggies and pumpkinseeds

Snacks would be some chickpeas, peas, cucumber and carrots with hummus or an apple

Lunch: Veggies with legumes and olives or mushrooms (spinach with green lentils and olive oil for example) or mackerel/herrings with veggies

snack: pumpkin or sunflowerseeds, berries (rasp or blue) sometimes (3. times pr. week) 1 10g piece of 92%dark chocolate with some tea

Dinner: again, some kind of legumes (brown rice one time a week) with veggies (green beans, brossel sprouts, aspargues) sometimes an egg or chicken (I eat fish/lean meat one time a day.)

Snack: carrots with hummus or an apple, a banana, mango or a falafel.

One time a week, I'll have a gluten free-spinach bun and a smoothie

I drink 1,5-2 liters of water each day and exercise between 30-50 min. every day.

I take Vit. D, E, C, evening primrose oil and silica.

I eat mostly organic.

Any thoughts on this?? Am I eating ok? I dont wont to eat the same things all the time, but I find it hard to add stuff to my diet, because I am afraid it will break me out ...

Make sure you don't loose weight. Get some fibre in from sweet potatoes, oatmeal etc.

It's excellent, provided you don't have an issue digesting all those seeds. Do you feel any kind of discomfort? Do you see them in your poop? Do you prepare them yourself by soaking, sprouting or fermenting before cooking? Sunflower seeds are very easy to sprout. Why don't you try sweet potatoes or squashes?

How ha your skin changed?

You're diet sounds good to me, but you didn't mention what kind of acne or skin issues you had before. If you're afraid to break out, does that mean that this diet made you clear? Do you still have any kind of acne as of now? If so, what else have you tried that worked/didn't work before? And how long did it take you to clear up?

Look great. Some people are good with legumes, others are not. If you're good with legumes, then it couldn't be better

Thank you all so much for the replies :-)

I am sorry, I forgot to mention that I am on a really low dose accutane, so it is difficult for me to point out the food-groups that I should stay away from. I started eating theese kind of foods before tane (2 months before) and i did notice some improvement, but not significantly. I just want to get a good start with healthy foods for when i come off the tane.. Guess i will just have to see :-)

Alternativista, I think i am digesting them fine, Idont see them in my poop but I sometimes have some gas, . This could maybe be due to the accutane. ?

I cook them myself, but how do you sprout them. ?

You soak them. how long varies with the seed.
