I have read several post of people clearing there acne using various methods diet vitamins ect ect, the post dont specify whether there acne was Genetic , Hormonal or just intolerance to certain foods.

Is the treatment the same as far as vitamins and diet for both types?

My son is 20 yrs old and has had acne since he was 17, his father had acne so I am assuming its Genetic.

Has anyone cleared there Genetic acne with vitamins and diets or is accutane the only option?

most people find that they can control their acne with good diet and exercise. but it probably wont completely cure it. accutane is an option but only if he has severe symptoms and the side effects must be considered before you start

I understand there is no cure, would ike to know if anyone with Genetic acne was able to control it with diet and vitamins.

His father was on accutane back when there was no internet so had no idea what it was. trying to find another alternative for my son. .

He is seeing a nutritionist right now he has alot of intolerance to differnt foods including eggs, wheat. oats, rye, and millet.

everyone with acne has it because of their genetics is one way or another. i have been able to control acne with diet but i dont know whether the improvement with my skin has been due to diet or just with age.

There isn't a difference. Both are factors related to eachother, and both are a factor in acne.

I view acne as a multifactorial problem. Food intolerance, hormone imbalances, genetics all have an effect.

Just because someone might have a genetic predisposition to get acne, does not mean that they are doomed. I've heard a quote before: "genetics load the gun but the environment pulls the trigger". Genes code for hormones after all. Exercising, eating healthy, supplementing can help balance hormones conferred by genes. Add epigenetics in to the mix, and things really start to get interesting.

Unlike accutane, you can't really go wrong with eating healthy. :P

They aren't two different types. We are genetically predisposed to getting acne. And hormones are involved in our acne.

Except perhaps in the case of some food intolerances that directly cause a pimple to form. Such as the nodules I get by the day after I eat most citrus. That kind of reaction I suspect is not technically acne.

We all have genetic acne. And yes, many are able to control it with diet and lifestyle. Myself, for example.
